But I think a lyk the american cover 4 uglies better, this 1 looks lyk an extreme action book, when its reely an action/adventure/comedy/romance/mystery/AWSOME book! but thats just my opinion…. Those covers are really cool. But I’m not sure if I’d actually pick them up if I saw them in a store (and not just because they’re in Russian). I don’t normally look at books with people on the covers. All the books I’ve read with people on the cover belong to my sister.
I just finished Blue Noon last night. It was so good! I am totally with everyone else about the fourth Midnighters. Why did it have to end at three?!?! There could totally be a fourth book! (must not say ‘totally’ again)

Eva-la: At the beginning of Uglies, Shay has “long dark pigtails.” I always imagined her as kind of exotic looking without having an Asian face. Kind of like my neighbor, after I told her she would make a perfect Shay and we battled it out because she wanted to be Tally and so did I.

Is ‘The Rebel’ Uglies? Because I don’t remember any explosions in Uglies…You know what’s weird? Most people model characters after themselves, unless it’s like amazingly detailed down to the last freckle. Not everyone, but yeah. And, Hannah-la, that kind of sounds like a good idea. Maybe models that look like the characters and can ACT. Awesome.

Lizzie-wa: I think it’s interesting, the whole difference between Tally and Shay. Shay rejects the whole system and is generally annoying, but she finds herself within the very system she was going against. Tally, on the other hand, wants to be a part of the system, but can’t seem to fit in no matter where she goes. Shay is the perfect product of what Dr. Cable created–and then later what Diego “heals” her into becoming. Tally, however, is the epic failure that leads to their downfall. But neither Tally nor Shay would have done anything interesting in the whole story without eachother.
That’s how I see it anyway.
As for all the snow day stories: Today it was freezing cold at our school under the ever-so-low temperature of 36 F. Yeah, and I really was cold too. Ah, California… Being wimpy about cold weather since 1850

Audrey-Sensei: I live in northern BC and it was just around 32F (0C) today. It’s gotten a bit colder, but this morning while I was walking to school the freezing rain magically turned to snow. Very cool looking. And on Sunday it should be about 9F (-13C). Sadly, this is freakishly warm weather.
Ashley-wa: Tim Hortons dominate all of Canada. You basically can’t go anywhere without finding at least one. It’s crazy!

Meaning that I’ve never seen snow. EVER. Except on television, which is really sad.
Although I do travel abroad, it’s usually summer or autumn/early winter in those places. Someday, I wish to travel to a temperate country and witness those snowflakes falling from the sky. Or maybe I’ll just go to the Antartic. (sp?)

BTW-2morrow my school has a band concert& durring the day the whole school has 2 listen 2 it!!!!UGH!! i only say that because last year and 4 the past 8 years my school’s band has sucked!!!! like last year the band teacher told us 2 guess that tune which is virtually impossible& my school since our band sounds like a dying whale or something…lol…but yeah, my school’s band, if u have never heard it b4 would most likely send u running out of the gym w/ your ears covered(trust me, i wish i could do this w/ out getting suspended)=D

To Audrey-Sensei’s comment about Tally and Shay, I totally agree.
Snow isn’t that great. Michigan only has two seasons–hot and cold our state bird is the mosquito and two of our cities are first and second in the unemployment stats. Don’t move here. We should just make everyone leave here (and Ohio) and just use the sites for bombing or nuclear testing. Or for the aliens.
Canada sounds so cool. Even though my friends always tell me it’s just like here. But it’s not. They probably have awesome accents. And Tim Hortons!!
Our school band sucks. Our football team sucks. Our quizbowl/chess team are pretty good. So is our debate team. You’d think we’re all nerds, but dumb people do sports. ha.
There’s Russian exchange students that go to our school, and it’s pretty cool to hear them speak it. It’s like ‘wow, I’m a dumb American.’
Nothings wrong with being American, it’s just like knocks you off your high horse.
All my friends (who’ve read it) said the giver is really good.

Ashley-wa: The Giver is amazing in that it is a slightly scarier and not as wicked version of a dystopic future. Like scott’s. But in black and white. Weird I know. It actually was banned in my old school district as being taught as a unit to elementary schoolers for making kids “think about life.”

Ashley-wa and Jay-wa: Cosplaying is when you dress up like characters from shows, comics, mangas, ect. Cosplayers usually make their own costumes.
In an Avatar magazine I have, they had pictures of cosplayers and a few quotes from them, one of them said that they adopt the personality of the character they dress as.
Sounds kind of fun, but I wouldn’t be likely to do it unless I was going to Comic-Con. XD

i canNOT wear heels. i borrowed a pair of them from my friend last year for a jazz band concert, and i almost dropped my bass one time! i was tripping every other second! and then people were making fun of me and saying things like “So Lizzy, how are those HEELS working for you?” (nobody actually thought that they were heels, since they were only like, 3/4 of an inch tall… but the little mini heel was only like a centimeter across and it was really hard to stay balanced in!!!)
even the GUYS were making fun of me! just on wensday when we had another concert, while we were waiting to play, we were talking about shoes and i said how i couldnt walk in heels. then this stupid sevey Steven was like, “hey! remember last year when you almost fell over like twenty times in your “heels”? That was so funny!” and then everybody started laughing and i was telling them to shut up.

i m actually very good @walking in heels, better than my mom!!! i trip all the time, like just Wednesday, when my school was havin cookie dough pick up……we were coming into the school& i wasn’t really watching where i was going and tripped over a box& landed face first into the stairs!!! it was sooooo hilarious, my friend Keri& me were laughing all the way up the stairs, then @the top of the stairs i ran into a statue& fell on the ground, almost on the stairs!!!! i was cracking up so hard i almost peed(not sure hw 2 spell this) my pants, so did Keri& some other people that saw me!!!!
then in homeroom Keri said that when i fell i looked like a barbie doll because i didn’t move 4 like 30seconds!!! i m not lying about this@ all!!!!=D

Hm… We hardly have school dances in my school, so I don’t have many experiences of them to speak of, but the only one I’ve been to was terrid!
And yay! I’ll be getting my Christmas present early because my parents had book a trip overseas to Hong Kong from the 23rd to the 28th of Dec. Meaning that I’ll be getting Bogus to Bubbly TODAY! This evening! It’s so bubbly, I’m writhing (sp?) in my seat!
Miko-kgome: I’ve already got some stuff for CNY, I’ll probably got get more in HK (It’s a known for shopping after all).
Even if money isn’t enough (I totally agree), it’s CNY! You get ang paos! Think of all those delicious food and tidbits that your relatives will try to force feed you. Hooray!
On the down side, there’s only a few weeks left to CNY’09, and the dance club has to perform. There’s hardly enough time to perfect the dance.
Lizzy-wa: Get him a book. That’s a very safe option. Or, how about making something. Maybe you can make burn a disc of his favourite songs? Think of what he likes, then get creative.

I’m Russian and when I read Midnighters in English (loved all three books! Thank you Scott!), I always thought how to translate tridecalogisms in Russian, didn’t know that it was done already. I should go and check it out.
And btw, the description is really from the second book but in the first book it’s almost the same, only without last two sentences.

I guess we are quite lucky since we have several Cosplay and Japanese Fashion Subculture Wear(that’s Lolita,Punk,Decora etc) stores here. We can get our stuffs easily and don’t need to order online. Some stores even do stock Japanese brands like BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT(my favourite brand!). I didn’t Cosplay but I just wore my Sweet Lolita outfit there. *And yeah, it’s BABY Lolita.*

Sigh yesterday evening was one that brimmed with dissapointment for I did not get my Bogus to Bubbly as expected. This was due to the unfortunate fact that my uncle did not have time to head down to Kinokuniya to get the book and thus I shall only receive it when I come back from HK. T.T

The People who did the synopsis

Sigh… I’m watching the movie on Friday afternoon. Which would be early Thursday morning for most of you. I’m quite excited and I’ve got a homemade fanshirt at the ready.
Also, I thought Breaking Dawn was the terriblest thing ever written in the entire series. It sounded like SM combined all the cliche-est fanfics. (Either that or the plot line was too predictable and all the fans got to it first.) And Renesmee?! What kind of a name is that? Psshh.
My fave in the series was New Moon. (But I’m somewhere between team Edward and Switzerland)

Trish-la: Muse is my favorite band and will be for all eternity. I’m dying to see them live.
Paramore is a very close second. I just love “Misery Business” and “Decode” (even if it was written for Twilight, which I hate). I really want to see them live too.
Flyleaf is #3 on my list of favorite bands. “Justice And Mercy” is my new favorite song by them.
I’m really into Green Day right now, but I’m on the verge of running them into the ground. The medley songs are super awesome.
I’m also a big fan of The Killers. “When You Were Young”, “All These Things That I’ve Done”, “Read My Mind”, “Sam’s Town”, and “Andy, You’re A Star” are some of my fave songs by them. (did anyone else know the last one is about Andy Roddick?)
I started listening to My Chemical Romance recently and I totally love, like, all the songs on their album Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge. I’m really sad that I only had three of their songs on my iPod for so long, I feel like I’ve been missing out. I really want The Black Parade.
“(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” by Blue Oyster Cult is a really good song.
“Oh No You Didn’t (Mercenaries 2 theme)” by the Wojahn Brothers is really funny. I’ve loved it ever since I heard it on the commercial.
“Flagpole Sitta” by Harvery Danger is also really good. I could only find a cover of it on iTunes.
“Psychosocial” by Slipknot is one of my all time favorite songs. I’m considering getting their new CD.
Anyway, I think this comment has gotten too long. Plus, I’ve named all the bands I can think of.
