WildCat Volger

I am working very hard on the rewrites for my next novel, Afterworlds, and as such have not blogged. Sorry.

In lieu of actual content, I give you a cat who looks like Count Volger:

Thank you, Twitter’s @countassmaster for this image.

I challenge you all to find cats who look like the other characters in Leviathan.

In related news, I suck at Photoshop:

  1. OMG HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.

My two favourite things combined. Wow. This is amazing. I can’t stop looking at the cat. HAHAHA

  2. Wow, thanks for making me laugh out loud during English when I wasn’t supposed to be on my iPad

    I shouldn’t confess to that

    But it’s SO FUNNY

Is it possible to meow with a thick Austrian accent

  3. Aaaah, I just about died laughing XD Now I do want to find cats who look like other Leviathan characters…

  4. wow this is a totally awesome looking cat!!! best of luck on your novel and finding other cats! I’ll keep my eye out for other pictures! also, any news on Uglies?

  5. This cat still continues to make me laugh. I would pay large amounts of money to own that moustache-clad feline πŸ˜€

Imagine living with that cat?!?!? Every time it walked into the room your life would become 100% better.

Completely off topic, what’s the best way to send a photo to Scott? Does anyone have ideas? This photo was from Twitter but I don’t have an accout… weh

  6. I have a cat named Zombie after The Last Days. He tends to get mangled and filthy and in trouble a lot too! I’m not sure if that counts though…

  7. @FirelordAzula: Not only is the cat picture epic, but Scott does have a life. We’re lucky he has time to post at all.

Also, I keep forgetting to say, but I watched Murder on the Orient Express a little while ago and it’s set in the 1930 and all I could think about was 31-year-old Alek and Deryn traveling on it! (I’m such a dork…)

  8. I also JUST re-watched The 10th Kingdom again and fell in love with it all over again. IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN IT, YOU HAVE NOT LIVED!!! SEVEN HOURS OF EPIC FANTASY AND FAIRYTALE RE-IMAGININGS!!! I LOVE IT SO MUCH!

  9. @Zac and Roxanne: Yes, I do appreciate a blog post, and the cat IS pretty cute, I was just hoping for book and/or movie news and/or awesome fan art. The cat just wasn’t what I expected.

  10. @Roxanne
Did you know that slow loris’s are illegal to be kept as pets in most countries including Japan, which means that the loris in the video is actually illegal. It’s just that Japanese police ignore the illegal trade.

  11. @Zac-la: Yeah, a bit. But how are you one if you’ve never experienced any of her work? I highly recommend her Masterpieces of Murder collection, which includes three of her most ingenious murder novels (The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, And Then There Were None, and Death on the Nile), and an equally ingenious short story(Witness for the Prosecution).

  12. That cat’s face is just awesome. 100% Count Volger. πŸ˜€ And completely unbelievable in its accuracy.
That should be the new Grumpy Cat. XD

  13. @Roxanne – well… I played this hidden object PC game based on her book Peril At End House πŸ˜› even though it was a game and the story wasn’t as detailed it still intrigued me! So here I am, a fan who hasn’t actually experienced any of her true work. I do want to read those books, esp. Death on the Nile! But… I got the first Game of Thrones book for my birthday so I might be stuck on that for a while (have you seen the size of those books?!)

  14. @28: Oh my god, I wanna read/watch GoT so bad! Yeah, it’s ridiculous, I can’t imagine writing so much for one story. Of course, with like seven different simultaneous storylines, maybe it’s not so hard.

  15. @30: What the….

@29: I’m only two chapters in and it’s quite good so far! The world-building is excellent!
I really want to watch the TV series but I’m trying to decide whether to watch it after I finish the first book, or watch it while I read the book…
Is one season based on one book? Or is it more than that? However, I’m a little hesitant to watch GoT because apparently there is A LOT of graphic nude scenes which I don’t really want to see… Have you heard that?

  16. @31: Don’t spoil anything for me! Like I’ve said, I haven’t read or watched it, but my sister who has has informed me of the following: a) the first two seasons are the first two books respectively, but then season 3 is only half of the third book, and b) yes, the book and show are both extremely graphic in sex/nudity and violence. I would recommend reading the book before starting the show, so you don’t accidentally spoil one with the other if you misjudge the pace of the show.

  17. Ah! Hi! I haven’t been here in ages. This cat is the best thing, though. I love it.

This was a conversation from ages ago (otherwise known as the last time I was here), but it has been confirmed to me that I cannot attend Alpha this year, not because I’m unable to apply, but because of other summer issues. πŸ™ To anyone here who is applying and does get in, good luck and have fun! I’m saying this now because I don’t know when I’ll next be on here.

I’m going to go mourn and study for finals now.

  18. @35: WHAT!?!?!? BUT WHAT IF I GET IN AND THEN WE NEVER GET TO MEET EACH OTHER IRL?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?! πŸ™
NOW I CAN’T EVEN BE EXCITED ABOUT GOING IF I GET IN ‘CAUSE I’LL KNOW I’M SIMULTANEOUSLY DOOMING OUR CHANCE TO MEET!!!!

  19. @38 & 39: I have too! I can hardly wait until this weekend to see the next episode. The first episode was pretty good, but not my favorite.

Can’t believe how mean Sherlock is to Watson…

  20. I really really need to come here more often. Last time I checked this post had 10 comments!

Yesterday I saw the last episode of Sherlock Season 3!!!! Sooo goood!! I hope the next season is just as awesome. Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch are really the best actors for Watson and Sherlock πŸ™‚

  21. my brother started screaming when he looked at the cat! Then he said it has a mustache and them screamed some more….

  22. @Roxanne – I will heed your advice! Besides I don’t even own the DVDs…

    @Midship!! You’re back :O we missed you!

I’ve heard heaps of good stuff about Sherlock… what’s it like? I was going to start reading some of the books last year but never got round to it.

  23. P.S.

I have to start school again in one week. Weeeeeeeeeeh. Summer holidays go impossibly fast and the worst part is I don’t feel like I’ve done anything all summer… But aside from that, I’m actually quite excited about school this year so I’m looking forward to that but dreading getting back into routines and waking up early.

    :'(

  24. Sherlock the show is very good, and I would definitely recommend it. You do get more out of it if you’re familiar with the original stories, however, so try reading at least some of the famous ones.

  25. Persons (in the 40’s, I think…) who were talking about Sherlock- You made my day. My fave TV show and my fave book in one place? Yes!!!!!!!
I feel like everyone here knows each other, but I don’t because I’ve never posted…..
And now I need to think of something that actually is vaguely intelligent and aids the conversation….
    Oh, yes!
Smaug is supposed to be a dragon. In the new Hobbits, he is not. He is a wyvern. They also refer to him as a drake. Drakes don’t have wings.
Aren’t you so proud of my intelligent comment?
Also, the computer keeps putting a red line under wyvern, even though who knows how many dictionaries it has…. I worry for it.
This has nothing to do with anything. I’m just a dragon nerd and take any opportunity to educate people about the various species and anatomies of the order draco (pretend that’s italicized).
Yes, I’ve done the math. Dragons are an order, not a family or a species.

  26. Also, I found a bunch of cats that look like Dr. Barlow to me…
And I can’t post them, and I have no other access to any other social media. *Bursts into tears*.

  27. Thanks, I’m not familar with her works (heard they’re great, though) but further research tells me that they’re quite sizable novels. Around 500 pages? I wish i could write a novel that long…
