Title: Hello!
Post by: Areias on August 21, 2013, 04:02:51 AM
Hi everyone, I recently joined the forums but forgot to introduce myself.

So, basically I like reading and writing (originals and/or fanfic, etc.) and what introduced me to Scott was the Leviathan series. I first read Airborn, actually (it'll always be my top YA favorite), then I went around and found people saying this series is also very similar, so I gave it a try and has loved it ever since. Admittedly I don't read YAs that much, but these two have pretty much hit the exact niche I dig. Currently in the process of writing a crossover incorporating both series which can be found on FF.net under this same pen name.

However, I've also read the classic and/or big hit YAs, like HDM, the Ender's Game series, HP (who hasn't?), HG (not that great IMHO), some works by Matthew J. Kirby (he writes very good YA books), and PJO/HOO, along with a few by Anthony Horowitz (Gatekeepers isn't bad) and an intense series called Last Survivors by Susan B. Pfeffer. Oh, also, there's this series called Temeraire by Naomi Novik that is supremely kick-ass, I highly recommend it, although it's not quite YA. I joined the forums because this seems to be a place where Levi fans are active and friendly, and... I suppose that's it for the intros?

Cheers :)

You've read Airborn? I'll bet Straif will be happy about that :)

Hello? I am Panzercrappitastica Bonechomper, but you can call me Panzer or Panz or Pan or really whatever you want. Welcome to the forum! And yes, this is a place were Levi fans are active and friendly ;D

I never really thought of PJ/HOO as YA... Kinda more pre-teen/early teen (although still awesome if you're older - can't wait for House of Hades!), I think.

Don't call Pan "Panzer" please. Then we get mixed up.

Ello! I'm Panzer Blitz, aka Time Blitz, aka Blitz. I've read both the Leviathan series and the Uglies series.

I'm a big sci-fi fan, fantasy fan, and like books in general.

I'm also a major science and history buff, and I like to study the history of armored warfare.

Oh, and I'm a girl by the way.

Oh, right. So anything that won't get mixed up with other forumers is fine ;D

Thankies for the welcomes :)

And yeah @Pan (I shall call you this in honor of Pantalaimon even though he has nothing whatsoever to do with your name) I've read Straif's DF and it's fabulously written. Part of the reason I joined is also to find people who like both series - there seems to be so few!

Okay ;D (what does DF stand for, and does everyone but me know? >~<)

Yay! :D Another Airborn person! It seems pretty obscure. But then again, I first encountered it freshmen year in my HS' library (and for that week skipped lunch to read it there), and I didn't have a problem purchasing Starclimber from local bookstores so I guess it has a hidden fanbase? It probably does? It must have!

Oh, Straif and Dino kind of made me read it...Otherwise I wouldn't have heard about it. But I'm glad I did. And he's not a very well known author.

Yeah, although his Silverwing series is way more popular, as far as I know.

Not outside of Canada from what I can tell...but yeah.
So, just noticed your the guy who wrote the crossover fanfiction...not half bad work my friend. Anchorgurl1 is happy with it.

Thank you kind sir :)

Too bad there doesn't seem to be much appeal for it aside from the few people who've actually read both series. I hoped that by keeping it in the Levi section people would give me advice, but at this rate it's not really any different than having it in the crossovers section.

Speaking of your friend, where is she? I noticed she stopped being active in the forums.

It's a long story, full of sorrow and despair.

He tried dating someone online, when everyone knows that never works. Plus, Straif has a creepy smile. Probably scared her away.

Wait who what? I'm confused  ???
I was talking about Anchorgurl1. Unless she's actually a guy?  :o

Yes, Anchor is a girl. And she is still with me. She's not on the forums because she's become rather busy with her real life.

Methinks its time I properly introduce myself, sorry for not doing it sooner ^^

I'm Kira, Clare, or Middy. Doesn't really matter what you call me. I like horses a lot and you read nifty books. Its nice to meet you after we already joined a role play and have characters that are siblings. But, you know. Whatever.

Said my welcomes earlier in this thread but didn't introduce >w<

I'm Reenie and am probably the most real-life crazy people on here. I love books and debates but won't hold stuff against you (unless it's a Special Circumstance ;) ) I'm a big Uglies fan, and humm...I like random questions so if you're ever bored feel free to interrogate. ^_^
