Title: Why?!
Post by: snowybunny12 on January 16, 2012, 01:48:08 PM
Why is this board dying? Peeps was my favorite book and So Yesterday was (despite it's plot structure) thought provoking. And don't get me started on Last Days; it gave me some interesting music choices to say the least...

Last Days was kind of weird, but not as weird as So Yesterday. Poo-Sham and Sneakers!!!!! A interesting combo :)

I loved So Yesterday! Not as much a Leviathan, but it was still awesome. I mean, name another book that has cool hunters, shoe laces, weird NASCAR guy, purple hair dye shampoo, and nice shoes?

I like So Yesterday, but it still doesn't compare to Leviathan in my mental list of favourite books
I did really enjoy the funny word play things, though, like
''Let me sew you to your sheets'' and ''Did you just shake a tower?"
I haven't read Peeps or the Last Days yet. I might not for a while.

Peeps is my favorite take on vampires. I loved the music concept in The Last Days. So Yesterday was fuzzy for me and I felt I didn't quite get it all at the time(I was only like 13-14 when I read it so . . .)  This is off-topic but Leviathan wasn't exactly that loved by me. Maybe I will have to give it another go before I read Behemoth and Goliath(I still haven't read them).

Lace. :D

I liked all three of the books. They aren't my favorites by any means, but they were all enjoyable reads.

I loved Peeps. The Last Days was fun, but it had a lot of plot holes. The end didn't really tie everything up. Did anyone notice that it never explained how Moz was mysteriously acquiring large sums of money to pay Alanna Ray?
So Yesterday was awesome though :D

Peeps is my favorite Scott Westerfeld book. I loved The Last Days too. But I hated So Yesterday. It was boring.

Before Leviathan, Peeps was my favorite. I think a lot of Leviathan is fandom, though, and for the actual process of reading it, Peeps is probably one of the most interesting books I've ever read.

Leviathan bored me (don't hate me for saying that). I guess it's all the history intwined in the story and plot. I don't know. All I know is I couldn't get into it. :p As for Peeps, I don't think it was the most interesting book I've ever read. But it was still amazing.

That's pretty much how I felt about Leviathan too, Allie.

I just started rereading Peeps, and I'm falling in love with it all over again XD

And yeah I agree with you all on Leviathan. I don't think it was Scott-la's best work. And there is way too much hype over that book. (I mean, seriously. That's why I try to stay away from the Levi section of the forum. It gets scary sometimes. DX)

Yeah, I don't go there very often because of that and because I haven't read the last 2 books.

I think the thing about Leviathan is that the world is extremely complicated, so there's a lot of room for fanfiction and stuff. I feel like you like it more after you finish reading it than while you're actually reading it.

Yeah, I think it will get better for me when I read the trilogy all in one.

It also helps that it's very artistic, which leads to a lot of fan work and a strong internet fan base brought together through that.

I did love the art. I do think that this also could be a great set up for a manga series. BUT it also hurts the potential manga because the manga wouldn't have the same artistic style(as in the great detail) since everything would be pictures.

I agree, on both parts. I love the art, but I also love the other adaptations of it.

Yes, it was an accident. My comp was acting crazy and I had to keep backing and reposting until it went through.
