Post by: Crim Kim-La on March 25, 2010, 05:19:13 PM
Mmmkae, well I haven't read Extra's yet.
(I'm in the process of doing so).

But anyways, which was your favorite book?
It's hard to pick. I don't even know yet. XP.

Ew, ant.

it needs some, but I get bored if there is no exploding of things or a good plot. Romance is and ingredient but I hate it when authors think that that's all a book needs.

Wait... when did she start hating him?
Title: Re: Favorite book in the trilogy?
Post by: Chloe-Wa on April 04, 2010, 09:35:26 AM
she doesnt actually hate him, her special sense of superiority makes her disgusted by his averageness, even though she doesnt want to be

my favorite was pretties, cause i love zane and tally together! it sucked that he became like a cripple and tally disliked him so much. and i cried when he died! :'(
Title: Re: Favorite book in the trilogy?
Post by: Chloe-Wa on April 12, 2010, 04:59:58 AM
thats what i liked about pretties too, danielle-wa, they were a cute couple  :)
Title: Re: Favorite book in the trilogy?
Post by: danielle_wa on April 12, 2010, 05:02:46 AM
yes! exactly chloe-wa!! i like zane much more then david, i think zane is so much more interesting and cool! and him and tally made a great couple!
Title: Re: Favorite book in the trilogy?

Team Zane  ;D  he was much more exciting, too, david was really serious
Title: Re: Favorite book in the trilogy?
Post by: danielle_wa on April 12, 2010, 05:07:15 AM
ya! like he was serious when he needed to be, but still really fun! how did you picture him to look?
Title: Re: Favorite book in the trilogy?
Post by: steve-la on April 12, 2010, 05:09:40 AM
I think Pretties cuz of the technology
Title: Re: Favorite book in the trilogy?
Post by: Chloe-Wa on April 12, 2010, 05:13:34 AM
I picture Zane as really striking, with really good bone structure and sort of grey/green eyes and his really dark hair and slightly olive skin... how do you picture him?
Title: Re: Favorite book in the trilogy?
Post by: steve-la on April 12, 2010, 05:14:59 AM
Pretty much like you except like short idk y
Title: Re: Favorite book in the trilogy?
Post by: danielle_wa on April 12, 2010, 05:22:08 AM
ya! like i pictured him to be really diffrent form the rest. like when you saw his face it took your breath away. i kinda pictured him with more paler skin and black hair in a stylish cut. and i pictures him to be tall and skinny. and with somewhat of a deep voice.
Title: Re: Favorite book in the trilogy?
Post by: Chloe-Wa on April 12, 2010, 05:25:01 AM
yep, i always pictured him as an extraordinary pretty, different to the others, and his hair seemed really important because of how he dyed it with ink
Title: Re: Favorite book in the trilogy?
Post by: Chloe-Wa on April 12, 2010, 05:26:05 AM
i also imagined him as tall and with a toned but not muscly body, and with a very mysterious air about him
Title: Re: Favorite book in the trilogy?
Post by: danielle_wa on April 12, 2010, 05:30:20 AM
ya totally!!! i love him! if i could bring anyone from the uglies world to life, it would be zane!! :D
Title: Re: Favorite book in the trilogy?

I would bring Shay
Title: Re: Favorite book in the trilogy?
Post by: Chloe-Wa on April 12, 2010, 05:33:18 AM
i agree with danielle-wa, he would be really interesting to talk to, and he seemed like a lot of fun
there are several characters i would like to speak to (if they were real), it would be good to get shay's opinions on tally and how much she put her through
Title: Re: Favorite book in the trilogy?
Post by: danielle_wa on April 12, 2010, 05:35:18 AM
ya thats true. i mean i like shay, but i dont think tally deserved all the crap shay gave her. tally just wanted to be pretty and she didnt know what she was doing when she destroyed the locket!
Title: Re: Favorite book in the trilogy?
Post by: steve-la on April 12, 2010, 05:37:30 AM
I would like to meet shay like 5 years after the book if she never met Tally.  Like as a pretty

The guy that played Hannibal in Hannibal Rising pretty much completely captures how I imagined Zane http://lacouturiernyc.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/gaspard-ulliel-2.jpg (http://lacouturiernyc.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/gaspard-ulliel-2.jpg)

And also describes the above =P

Haha, that's funny. :D
I never picture guys to be short.
Unless the book says so.

I always wonder about Shay and Tally.
Like if they never met each other
and stuff like that.
Title: Re: Favorite book in the trilogy?
Post by: steve-la on April 13, 2010, 03:13:47 AM
i just thought like hes a kid and it said that the pretties where short for genetics
Title: Re: Favorite book in the trilogy?
Post by: danielle_wa on April 13, 2010, 04:48:30 AM
ya if they never met, shay would probably be at the smoke and tally a pretty!
Title: Re: Favorite book in the trilogy?
Post by: eviethecyborg on April 17, 2010, 07:53:20 PM
I'm sure the special circumstances would've somehow gotten someone else in Tally's position after a while. Like when Smoke started expanding and giving out pills.. But it would've fallen sooner, since they would've stayed in the same place.. unless they decided otherwise.
Title: Re: Favorite book in the trilogy?
Post by: Nina-Chan on April 17, 2010, 11:33:57 PM
i imagined him thin, normal height with black hair

If I had to bring one back to life I would bring Andrew Simpson Smith. You rock, Andy!

I'd bring Zane because I'd love to see how'd he react to the rusty world. :)

Zane is an idiot.
Title: Re: Favorite book in the trilogy?

I liked Zane, even as a pretty he was kind of intelligent
Title: Re: Favorite book in the trilogy?
Post by: hoverponies forever on April 18, 2010, 01:14:41 AM
In specials, though, he just doesn't get it.
Title: Re: Favorite book in the trilogy?
Post by: Chloe-Wa on April 18, 2010, 01:17:18 AM
He's rational, Tally isn't a nice person as a special, she tries to bring down the Smoke, something she had been fighting to save, and Zane tries to help her become a better person and rewire her superior special brain
Title: Re: Favorite book in the trilogy?
Post by: hoverponies forever on April 18, 2010, 01:19:08 AM
He doesn't understand that she totally thinks he is stupid
Title: Re: Favorite book in the trilogy?
Post by: eviethecyborg on April 18, 2010, 01:28:21 AM
He thinks that's just because of the Special operation. And they did almost kiss that one time so I mean... obviously he thought there was something still going on between them.
Title: Re: Favorite book in the trilogy?
Post by: Chloe-Wa on April 18, 2010, 01:30:08 AM
Tally did want to love Zane, but her sense of superiority stopped her

Title: Re: Favorite book in the trilogy?

zane just struck me as one of those "out there" guys...he never went to the smoke...he chickened out even though he was the flippin' LEADER...it was his flippin' idea and he stayed behind and even after being threatened to be turned into a special (you gotta admit, who hasn't dreamed about being a special) he sold them out which made them target tally and keep an eye on shay etc. then he goes and takes experimental pills that (in the letter to self) were stated to both be taken, and then (how's this for intelligent?) he doesn't help her get through her desicion and he doesn't take the pills from her even though if they both take one there'd obviously be a risk and isn't a boyfriend supposed to CARE for his girlfriend's safety? especially in books!!!!! smart? i think not...he reminds me of a vulnerable child who relies on other around him to get through the day...don't get me wrong, i love zane, i just don't agree that he's intelligent, even for a pretty

Agreed, Zane is most certainly not the sharpest tool in the box and he's definately missing a few slates sometimes, but he's still by far my favourite character (well, besides friz of course ;))

I think it might have just been the hair =/

pinky and the brain is a cartoon about two mice trying to take over the world, as you would expect, Brain is the clever one with all the plans, but Pinky ruins them because he's so dopey... my sister's mouse is named Pinky

well no charcter is perfect! sure zane made alot of mistakes but without him tally would still be a bubblehead! and its not his fault of some of the circumstances he got put into. and i know i would chicken out of going to the smoke! at least he tried to be a good leader! i dont think he is dumb at all, and plus his brain is eaten at! cut him a little slack! lol
