Do you ever notice typo's in the books?
« on: April 14, 2010, 03:35:42 PM »

I've payed close attention to them in Extras. I even kept track.

Pg. 110 "Yeah, I head your little speech." Eden floated higher, looming over her like a giant.
*I think 'head' was supposed to be 'heard'.

Pg. 184
She planted a boot on Aya's chest and shoved her away (*there should have been a period here)
Aya spun head over heels....

Pg. 237 "Aya nodded slowly. "Like I said, I saw those....
*There's a quotation before Aya's name, even when she wasn't saying something.

I just wanted to see if anyone catches on to these mistakes.
I'm not trying to make a big deal, it just caught my attention. :D
This series is the best.

Notice them all the time... It kinda pisses me off when someone is paid to proof read a book and they do it so badly. What's even worse is when they bring out a new print version of a book and it has new ones in (Harry Potter was TERRIBLE for this). Imo all it would take is a reading group of 20 kids (i say kids because they would do it for free) and that book would be so bloody perfect the Queen could use it as toilet paper!!

This forum is always making me rant lol ::)

But all in all... Nice one Kim-la ;)

i do notice, but i very rarely give much thought to them, unless theyre in twilight, in which case i use them to tell my Uglies hating friend what a terrible writer Meyer  is and act like there are never any in Scott's books (shhh, she doesnt need to find out)

well there's always going to be something that slips through the cracks we can't just go around fireing people every time they make a mistake esspecialy if these people have to profread like ten books a day. I do agree that there are some glaring problems in certain books that probably should have been picked up somewhere along the publishing prosess but sometimes you're so close to something you can't see. Minor errors like the ones mentioned here shouldn't cost someone there job, they should just be a fun little thing for fans to look out for and rant about ;)
