This is a remake of a poll I made in the suggestions.

My answer is still the same: I think they should, but it may ruin some aspects of it.

I am going with no. The current theme is strongly dystopian, and a alternative steampunk history would probably flop at the box office, and I hate to see book series only get one book made into a movie.

I think there's too many dystopias right now, I like the genre but it's extremely overdone. What Hollywood really needs is something unique and refreshing, like a Leviathan movie.

Well, I'm totally biased and admitting it, but I chose "agree" because I want a movie but they might mess it up. I think the easiest things they could mess up are:
- Not having the right accents, especially Deryn being British or Alek being German
- Casting a girl who looks like a girl as Deryn
- Bovril imitating voices

I would love to see a Leviathan movie, even though my standards for book-to-movie adaptations are pretty high. Of course, there would be some mistakes or things that don't translate well to the screen, but that's to be expected.

I agree with you on almost everything you said, Pan (I don't know where you'd find an actress that doesn't look like a girl, and even then she looks like one in the illustrations). Personally, I thonk an independent studio/director would be able to do Leviathan justice.

As long as the Great and Powerful Westerfeld was consulted for pretty much everything.  XD

Deryn looks like a girl in the illustrations, but Alek does too. I just think it's the way it's drawn.

(TBH I totally mistook Alek for Deryn a couple times when I first read Leviathan)

As for a movie...yes. But not now.
