Percy Jackson musical?
« on: February 11, 2014, 02:26:54 PM »

So apparently, Percy Jackson is going to be a musical. I don't really know what to think of this, but if I can find the link to the auditions ad I will post it.

Yay or nay to this?

Edit; found the link!

Uh...well. .-. That is rather strange, but I guess it could work. If it was done well.

Edit: After some Googling: They had better not base this on the movie. -_-
Edit of the edit: Nope :)

I'm still having issues trying to see how they can make it a musical

I dunno. I'd want to see it, for sure...I'm just not sure how it could work. Percy - in fact fact all of the characters; they don't really seem like the type to burst into song.
But hey. Buffy worked as a musical, anything's possible.

Why is Annabeth not on the character list?

I SO wish I could do this, though. I want to. So badly. Just. Ugh.

Buffy was a musical? e-e

I was wondering that, too, but I'd imagine it's because they already cast her or something. A lot of characters aren't on there. If she was I'd so try xD except I have no chance of getting to New York to even attempt

Yes, there was a musical episode of Buffy called Once More With Feeling. And it was absolutely amazing, despite what one might expect.

I definitely couldn't do this.I can sorta sing and can sorta act, but not really. Plus there's no way I could conceivably go to New York to even try. Maybe once this comes out I could talk my friends into putting on a mini version with me... *goes of into fantasy land*

Annabeth's not on the character list? *looks at the list* What!?
And the same actor for Luke is also Gabe...?
And can be eighteen?
That cast list seems a bit off.

They want someone 18+ to play Percy ::)
The list is a mess, honestly. But I'm sure they had to try to compile characters because they weren't expecting to get a lot of interest...I don't even know how my friend found out about it.

Aha! I found the page of the people who are actually trying to make it: http://www.theatreworksusa.org/show_detail.cfm?show=1580&selectedTab=1
Not that that clears up, you know, anything :P

And you can have them bring a show to you! If I had way more time, money, and space than I do, I would totally do that.

That'd be awesome to get them to come here. I'd so drag my friend to see it, she's weeping because of it's existence.

Weeping happily or unhappily?

Also: I have decided that I approve of this fully. I'd like to see what they can do.

Unhappily. She's not one for the arts, so I don't think she sees the potential.

I think it could either be horrifically great, or horrifically horrible. I dunno how much I'd enjoy it, though. I really can't see any of these characters singing

I say again: Buffy made an amazing musical, and after that, I'll give anything as a musical a chance. I mean, if it was good, score. If it wasn't, well, it's only an hour long.
