To me, religions are all the same, but represented by different people in different ways. No offence to anyone that strongly believes in their religion.

Yea, I said it the other day. We should all come together and focus on our common beliefs instead of our differences. And I think Robin Wasserman stole it, if you notice scott westerfeld has a review on the book or well a quote or whatever, recommendation. Yeah I think thats the word.

the thing you're talking about, seth-la, about focussing on the similarities in religions and not the differences does exist, its known as ecumenism and lots of christians do projects with it and follow it in order to help avoid prejudice, to make people get on better, and to find solutions to problems as a whole united in having beliefs rather than as enemies who have variations in what they believe

your statement makes a lot of sense, mara-la, most mono-theistic religions are founded on very similar ideas

Once, a long time ago, someone decided there was a greater being. All religions evolved from this. And then went extreme.

:D i like the idea of ecumenism, because it allows people to still have different beliefs while getting on. i don't like the idea of merging all religions into one, which was expressed on the religion topic a while ago, because it's nice to have different religions and ideas

Of course, but we should at least agree on some basic things and get along as god's children. ;D
