I think it makes sense considering our new main character has been trained from childhood to be a weapon, whereas Tally and Aya were just your average teenagers at the start of their stories. Plus it really goes to kinda show a more negative side of how a lack of the Pretty Operation has changed things. But yeah I also second in enjoying the story becoming a little darker than before

You know I've been thinking about this, and I just came to a horrifying realization: in the vast Uglies universe someone, somewhere at some time got a surge to make themselves look like Shrek
