Andrew nodded and looked away, trying to hide his expression, "I'm sorry you have to deal with Jen. I wish my life wasn't so complicated," he muttered.

Autumn actually laughed at that. “Complicated? Andrew, darling, have you met me? My hippie parents are in my apartment where I’m letting them stay because they’re homeless and apparently don’t believe in medication, and my ex is getting out of jail after trying to murder me. Complicated should be my life motto.”

Grayson kissed her back, placing both hands at her waist to pull her in closely. Yes, this was what he needed. He needed a distraction. He needed to feel safe. He needed her.

Sophie slipped her hands under his top, running her nails up his sides, only pulling away from the kiss momentarily to breathe. She had not expected to find anything positive in this hospital stay, but she was happy that the expectation was proving wrong. He didn’t seem to care about treating her like some delicate thing that would break, and she liked that. She pressed her body against him, enjoying the feeling of him against her.

A pleasant shiver ran through his body under her rough, determined touch. He brought a hand up, fingers curling in their hair, the kiss growing more passionate when-

"What on earth?!" the voice of one of the nurses echoed into the room. Grayson pulled back from Sophie, swearing under his breath.

Sophie pulled back, and though she was incredibly annoyed, she turned to the nurse, and in the sweetest voice she could muster, said: “Well, would you like to join us?”

Andrew rolled his eyes and restrained a smile, amazed that she could laugh it all off so easily, "Alright, I'll give you that," he said, "Well...at least we're both pros at dealing with complicated lives," he said, "I'm sure we can handle a 6 year old and my crazy ex," Andrew said.

"Absolutely not!" the nurse snapped. "Both of you back to your rooms at once! You'll be dealt with separately."

Grayson cast a nervous glance at Sophie. Just how much trouble were they in? Would it cost Sophie her freedom? "It was my fault," he added quickly. "I came onto her. She... well I didn't force her, but... she's not at fault.

The nurse scowled at him, but seemed to believe him.

(Idk why but I feel like this nurse’s name is Hilda)

Sophie glanced at Grayson. She didn’t want him stuck in here any longer than need be. She got up, not even bothering to fix the disarray she was in. “Party pooper,” she said to the nurse, her earlier pleasant tone going surly. And then, as she headed out the door, she called loudly and in the most obnoxious way, “there’s nothing wrong with two consenting adults having some fun, granny.”

(Solid difference between Autumn and Sophie: when Autumn is caught she goes shy and panics and when Sophie is caught she’s just like f*ck you all)

“Yeah, sounds like a cake walk,” she said, smiling now. She stared at him for a minute and then looked away, feeing a slight flush in her face. They’d been together a week but she felt like it was much longer, thanks to the many months of denying their feelings as well as everything they’d been through. Even just looking at him gave her butterflies. “Hey Andrew,” She said softly. “I...” but she couldn’t say it. It was too early. The words meant too much. And she had such a history with them too. Those words were more intimate than any sexual act. “...I just wanted to thank you, for even giving me a chance after I pushed you away for so long.”

<**Hilda it shall be then lol**>

Hilda rolled her eyes and said nothing more, knowing it was better to avoid an argument with Sophie. Another nurse came by and escorted Grayson back to his own room, all the while chastising him about his behaviour. Grayson had a feeling his therapist was going to have a field day when he heard about everything...

Sophie strutted back to her room, not letting the nurses touch her. “Cool, so, how long for this time out?” Sophie asked Hilda.

The nurse brought Grayson his medication. “Take these, and you’ll sleep for a little bit. You’ve had too much excitement!”

Andrew glanced back, quiet for a moment as he thought back on the last 6 months; despite how angry and upset he'd been when Autumn pushed him away, it really had done little to lessen how he felt about her.
"You're welcome," he replied with a cheesy grin then paused as he thought back on their roller coaster of a relationship the previous 6 (?) months. "I'd have been a fool to turn down a chance to see what could happen with you," Andrew said, "and so far I have not been disappointed," he told her, his grin quickly grown to a big smile, "I can't remember being this happy in a long long time," he admitted.

Jenny felt the soft touch of her hand and smiled. Things were working out better than she had hoped. She opened the cabinet and began rifling through it. "So, what's your poison?"

Grayson nodded and closed his eyes for a moment, his body tense all over. "Yeah, I just... I thought I was being followed."

“I think I could go for a bit of rum right now,” she said easily. “Or whatever you’re having.”

"That sounds lovely," Jenny replied, letting go of Alexis for a moment to retrieve the bottle. Then, after being unusually quiet for a couple of seconds, she quickly kissed Alexis on the cheek. "Do you prefer it straight or with a mix of some kind?"

"As long as it takes to figure out your punishment," Hilda sneered. Then her expression softened. "You know, seeking out random men is just as destructive as cutting. You were doing so well. Why this?"

"Probably won't stop the nightmares though," Grayson muttered, but he took the medication anyway.

Sophie scowled inwardly, but kept a pleasant tone, laced only with the mildest irritation. "Oh Hilda - it is Hilda, right? See, there's a certain joy, a thrill, some might say, to sexual activities. I'm so sorry you haven't yet had the pleasure, or else you'd understand."

--

The nurse's expression softened. "Grayson, you will get through this. We're here to help you. First step to healing though is to do it in a constructive manner, and so we're going to get you on track. Clearly, we haven't been focusing on you enough."

--

Autumn reached up and fixed one of his stray blonde hairs. "You are amazing," she said softly. Her phone buzzed again and she groaned, not even wanting to look at it. Still, it could be work, and so she did. It was a text from a number she didn't recognize, but when she opened and read it, she knew quite well who sent it. "It's been, what, five minutes since we've been with my parents? I just got a text from Nina. Apparently they used my landline to phone Nina's parents and bitch about me being a bitch!"
