I am totally speculating here, but I feel like it is partly because New Zealand is a first world country and Sri Lanka is not.

I'd absolutely agree with you, and I do on most things that sentence could apply to, but I saw the Easter Worshiper thing in relation to the Notre Dame burning as well. *Insert joke about Americans finding the C word offensive here*

And? I did specify world leaders.
Sorry, it was late when I read your response and I didn't see that line

Totally fine, we all do that sometimes. God knows I do. :P

I have to comment on the US women’s teams recent display of disrespect on the world stage, because I personally think running up the score and then over celebrating the goals is classless. I understand the excitement, as I have been there, but that does not make it right. I played soccer for 14 years and my coaches taught us to respect each other and our opponents. If a score gets higher than 7 goals, I think a team should take it back a notch and they certainly shouldn’t be celebrating when it reaches 9 goals. I remember playing a game once where we scored 13 goals and our coaches called the score in as 7-0. I remember not being happy about it but I’m glad they did that because it taught us a lesson in treating others with respect. Defeating a team so severely and then putting on such a display of celebration is wrong. The Canadian and US hockey teams don’t celebrate like that when they are beating teams 15-0.

In team sports, most people know that when the score gets run up, you TAKE THE GAS OFF, and you certainly don’t celebrate.

Society is so focused on individual satisfaction that we’ve lost sight of how to treat each other with respect and kindness. We’ve lost the spirit of sportsmanship!
