Canadian Snacks
« on: January 10, 2019, 01:52:49 PM »

Sorry, but this latest revelation that America doesn't have fuzzy peaches has reignited this conversation.

other delicious snacks that I've just realized America doesn't have:

Caramilk (my personal favourite)
Aero
Crunchie (not a fan but whatever)
Coffee Crisp
MR BIG (second favourite!)
Wonderbar
Mars Bar
Crispy Crunch
(omg the list of chocolate just keeps growing...)

Crush Cream Soda (the lovely pick variety)...delicious but I can't make butterbeer with this crap so that's a thumbs down from me

KRAFT PEANUT BUTTER!? I am so sorry for you people. this stuff is magic....especially the whipped peanut butter (I could eat that stuff by the spoonfuls)

Hickey Sticks!

and I guess there's a whole list of candy that the States don't have made by Maynards:
wine gums
swedish berries
swedish fish
sour cherry blasters!
sour watermelons
sour patch kids...OMG YOU DON"T HAVE SOUR PATCH KIDS! I'M SO SORRY!
(please tell me I'm wrong about some of these??)

What do people even eat in America??

HAHAHAHAHAHA OMG THIS TOPIC 😂😂😂😂😂

I KNOW this is what I was saying, I have never felt more Canadian until I realized that these things are DISTINCTLY CANADIAN. I remember once trying to explain cherry blasters to an American and they were so confused by the name haha.

We also have Smarties. In the States, "Smarties" are what we call Rockets... the closest thing to actual Smarties (sorry not sorry haha) are M&Ms.

EDIT:
I believe Caramilk exists in the US, but under a different name.

I imagine many of these things are in the states with a different name/recipe.
I feel bad they don't get OUR Caramilk :P

ALSO. Purdy's. I don't know what I'd do without Purdy's....

Can get Swedish Fish and Sour Patch Kids In America.
Got Rockets at the Dollar Tree once.
Mars Bars used to be available in the 80s but they aren't now for some reason

Has any successful culture developed without wine gums though? They're basically the wheel of flavor.
