"As long as nobody kills anyone I'm sure whatever else happens should be considered a success," Nico said in a bored tone, drumming his fingers against the door of the car impatiently.

Nico's comment did very little to calm Thomas' nerves. He sighed and got out of the car, trying to prepare himself for what they were about to walk into. Thomas helped Peggy out of the car then followed Charles to the front doors

Peggy walked with Thomas through the night and took a deep breath, “They’re going to be upset that I took you away for so long,” she whispered.

Maggie sighed and stepped out of the car, grabbing Nico by the elbow and dragging him along with her. “This’ll be a hoot,” she commented.

Nico walked alongside Maggie, peering at the house. He then let go of her and turned around to walk backwards, taking in everything around him. "So, uh, what were your parents names again?" he asked her.

Maggie smirked at him, watching how he took everything in. “Robert and Shirley,” she told him. “But you would probably earn some brownie points if you just called them Mr. and Mrs. Juniper.”

"Shirley is such a lovely name," Peggy commented as she held Thomas' arm. She pat his hand and smiled softly.

"Or better yet, call them Sir and Ma'am exclusively," Charles chimed in from by the front steps.

Maggie laughed at her brother, easing into being back. “You know they probably would get a hoot out of that.”

"Okay, so Mr. and Mrs. Bloodbag is a no-go, got it," Nico said in a light tone, trying to brighten the mood.

Maggie rolled her eyes. “Definitely not that,” she told him. They were approaching the door. “Just try not to be too rude and I think it’ll be fine.”

Thomas couldn't help but crack a small smile as he listened to them joke around; it eased his nerves somewhat. He stepped up to the front door and sucked up enough courage to knock.

Shirley answered the door and her eyes immediately zeroed in on her missing son. “Thomas!” She exclaimed, pulling him into a fierce hug. When she pulled him back she smacked his head (careful not to be too rough). “You leave for a year with no calls, no visits?” Finally she laid eyes on Peggy in front of her and raised her eyebrows. “Ah. I see.”

Peggy looked at Thomas’ mother and suddenly had a smile on her face, little chuckle on her lips as she awkwardly realized, she was much older than her.
