“Don’t you scurry off. You’re like family to me. I’ve known you a long time. How did you enjoy the trip?” Peggy asked as she sat on the couch beside Thomas, picking up her drink, her legs curled over Thomas’ lap.

Maggie stayed standing, though she dropped her arms to her side. She was honestly curious to know his thoughts on the trip.

"Well I definitely had fun," Nico said, grateful for the change in subject. "We explored all over, from popular tourist destinations to remote locations barely touched by people," he said. "And I made sure to teach her everything I know about being a vampire. The perks, the history, survival." He looked at Maggie, smiling. "Ain't that right?"

Maggie smiled back, her resolve against him forgotten. “I’m a real vampire now,” she agreed. “Learned everything from the best.”

Peggy smiled and looked a Tad tjomas, “I think our time here in the city has actually made me feel more human than I ever have.”

Thomas nodded, “sometimes I forget I’m not human anymore,” Thomas admitted.

Nico raised an eyebrow, looking at Peggy. "Well, that's good isn't it?" he asked. He figured it was what she had wanted for a while- to not feel like a monster.

Peggy nodded but then frowned a little, “I can’t say I’m not a little envious of you though. Traveling was why I put off marriage and suitors my whole life.”

Maggie couldn’t disagree with Peggy more. She had settled into life as a vampire amazingly, she found that she truly enjoyed it. “You’ll go eventually,” she told her. “When the time is right.”

Thomas reached over and discretely took his wife's hand as he eyed her, his thumb gently brushing against the back of her hand. He felt terrible that the shop was keeping her from exploring the world like she always dreamed. "One day we will too," he promised.

Peggy looked at Thomas and smiled gently, nodding, “I know. Nothing is going to keep us away, I’m sure,” she told him and then sat up, pulling her legs off his lap and sitting up properly before putting her head on his shoulder, “So where else? More than italy I assume,” she asked Maggie.

Maggie’s eyes lit up. “We went to France as well,” she said. “All over. And Germany - though I didn’t like it there very much. Ireland was amazing, though, there’s real castles there! And Spain, the people there were incredible. We braved the day sometimes with some hats and long sleeves.”

"That sounds wonderful," Thomas commented as he put an arm around his wife and imagined travelling across Europe with her, "I must say though...I am glad you are back Mags," Thomas said.

“We’ve also gone out in the day a few times! We had to go to this fancy luncheon with your parents and Charles. He was panicked the whole time. That was before he moved away, went to work in the city full time now.”

The mention of Charles caused Maggie’s mood to drop. She felt so guilty for just leaving, she hadn’t even said goodbye. “How...how is Charles?”
