Thomas smirked, wishing she hadn't teased him like that. He walked back down with Peggy and took his seat once again, rubbing his aching nose as he sat, "Sorry for causing such a scene," he said to them all

"Isn't she? I'm glad you think so," he said to Maggie before the others had returned. In all honesty, he'd been quite worried about the entire meeting, which was probably why he had sprung it the way he did. Of course he didn't want things to be difficult for his family, but he also couldn't just put his life on hold because suddenly he was the odd sibling out.
He turned when Peggy and Thomas returned, significantly less bloody now. "Yes, I really didn't take you as one to cause dramatics," he teased. "Liz went to wash up in the kitchen," he added.

Peggy tensed. The kitchen. Where they had several jars of blood. She took a deep breath and started towards the room, “Oh that’s not necessary. She’s our guest!”

"Oh, calm down, she's fine," Charles said quickly and waved his hand.

Maggie could see Peggy’s panic and moved to stand, though she wasn’t sure what she would be hiding from Elizabeth. “I’ll help her.”

So Peggy was suspicious of the human, too. Nico could almost touch the tension in the air. He cleared his throat. "So, uh... Charles. When is your wedding, again? I missed that detail."

"We haven't pinned down a date, really, but Liz wants to have it in the summer. Indoors, though." Charles looked toward the kitchen and frowned before turning to Nico as he spoke.

Elizabeth was at the sink, nearly finished washing the dishes up. She turned when she heard Maggie, looking mildly surprised. "Oh, I'm almost finished but you could dry them if you'd like."

Nico frowned, looking down at his rugged, disheveled clothing. "Suppose that means I'll have to find myself some proper attire."

"That all you have?" Charles asked, raising an eyebrow. "Well, I suppose we can get you some things," he said, putting his chin in his hand.

Maggie moved to start drying the dishes. “You really shouldn’t have, we could have cleaned up.” She tried to covertly look around for whatever Peggy wanted hidden.

"I only ever get new clothes when the old ones are too worn down," Nico replied with a shrug. He looked to the kitchen, narrowing his eyes. He hoped Maggie was okay- that she wasn't freaking out on the human or anything.

Maggie stared at her soon to be sister. There was still something about her that made her uneasy, like she couldn’t trust her. “I can’t believe you actually fell for my brother,” she said. “How did it happen again?”

"He can be charming, if he tries. Plus he demands attention like no other," she laughed. "It was hard not to."

“So he wooed you?” She wasn’t convinced it had been Charles. It just felt so unlike him.

"I wouldn't say wooed. He grew on me," she said, smiling fondly.
