Maggie stared back at Peggy with a sad look, hoping it wasn’t the last she would see of her. She took Nico’s elbow and stared at her brother, relieved at least to see he was alive. “We should decide where to go,” she said softly.

lol, oh Charles :P)

Thomas' heart broke for Charles, knowing that when he was more sober, they would have to crush him. He glance at Peggy and swallowed, "I love you Peggy. I will see you again soon," he said with certainty.

Peggy had come back down the stairs with more money and gave it to Thomas before looking at him and feeling tears prick her eyes, "I will see you again Tom." she gave him a gentle smile, "I love you. You are all I need."

Thomas' lip trembled as he stood at the doorway; leaving his wife behind was probably the hardest thing he'd ever had to do. He drew her into his arms and kissed her deeply one last time, "My life with you...it's not just greater in duration. It's greater in all its depth, colour and quality. It's an adventure and I know that adventure is not over yet," he whispered. Thomas reluctantly  let her go and went and went with his siblings and Nico.

Peggy looked at Thomas with tears silently falling down her face. He really had such a way with words around her and he was not making their departure easier. She stepped back though, giving Elizabeth her word that she would stay, but her eyes remained on the main she so desperately loved.

Every instinct he had was to stay with her; walking out that door was harder than he could imagine. He looked back at his wife once more before going with nico and his siblings. They were leaving everything behind. The shop, their home, his parents. He did not know how they would explain to his parents why they’d disappeared so suddenly; his father would probably never forgive him.

“We’ll get her back, Tommy,” Maggie whispered, though she didn’t believe her own words. She fully expected Elizabeth to kill her as soon as they were gone.

"Oh, don't look so weepy. I'm quite surprised, actually. You took a human's place. Very admirable, but not very beneficial to you," Elizabeth said as she watched them leave.

Thomas could easily detect the uncertainty in his sister voice and he was trying not to feel the same way. Peggy was strong and resilient; she could handle Elizabeth and the others. “She will be fine,” he grunted as he went to their car in the drive

“Why would I take anything else away from Charles? What benefit would it be to me for him to stay with you? I’ll have a hundred more years with Thomas, these short days apart will be a blink in my eyes. Charles doesn’t have that kind of time,” she said and looked to Elizabeth, “So you want me to play hostess for you? Tell you where you and your friends can sleep in my home?”

Elizabeth scoffed at that. "Hardly, as if we'll be staying here. You're going to come with us."

Peggy set her eyes hard against Elizabeth and then relaxed, trying to remain tempered, “Where are you taking me? How will we know Thomas and the others have reached if they cannot write me here?”
