Peggy found a couple goats and sheep in steerage and took one of the sheep, pulling it along with her, back to the storage room that she'd turned Elizabeth in. She pushed the door open and then led the sheep to Elizabeth, "Here."
Elizabeth looked at the animals and tears welled in her eyes before she grabbed the sheep and ripped into its throat. Even though some of the hunger subsided, it wasn't nearly enough and she hated herself all the more as she stared at the dead animal when she had finished.
"I hate you," she said softly, drawing her knees to her chest.

"You starved me and then offered yourself to me as if I would be able to control myself," Peggy snapped back. She looked at the girl and then turned her face, "That's fine. You can hate me." she braided her hair back and tied it off at the end, "If you're hungry again, let me know." she said and then curled up on the floor. It would be a few days, but soon they'd be in England.

Mikhal smiled, an expression of both pure contempt and amusement. "Oh, silly Charles. And you too, Thomas," he purred. "When I said family, I didn't mean you, or your sister."

Nico practically flew to her side the moment Maggie entered the room. "Are you okay? What happened? Did he say anything to you?"

Thomas frowned a little and glanced at Charles, “I’m afraid I am not understanding,” Thomas said. What other family could he be referring to?

Charles blinked, looking over at Thomas in confusion and then back to Mikhal.

<**so uh they have other family right? Like, idk, the birth-givers? :p**>

Mikhal rolled his eyes. God, they were stupid. "You know what? I wouldn't worry about it," he said with a pleasant smile. "Just stay out of my way, and you won't regret it," he warned, then turned and started to leave without another word.

Lol sorry, I’m just tired and slow tonight 😂)

It didn’t even occur to Thomas that this man could referring to their parents. He felt terrible for not even considering them. Thomas grabbed the man’s arm and stopped him for leaving, “you leave our family out of this,” he said angrily

Maggie clutched him tightly. “I’m okay, I’m okay. But you have to get out of here. He can smell you and he wants to kill you! We, we have to mask your scent. Quickly.”

Mikhal threw him back violently. "What part of do not get in my way, and nobody gets hurt do you not understand?" He snapped. He turned then and transformed into a bat, flying off and disappearing into the night sky.

Nico held her close, resting his chin on her head. "You don't need to worry. He won't come after me here, not in an enclosed area when he's more than aware that I know he's coming. He's smarter than that."

Maggie shook her head, unconvinced. “Nico, I don’t think he cares. It...it was like killing you was his only purpose in life. I can’t let that happen.”

Thomas fell to the ground with a grunt and watched Mikhal fly off, "We...we have to go to Nico and Maggie," he said, not sure what else to do. He wasn't strong enough to be of much use.

"Come on, then!" Charles said, holding a hand out to help his brother up. "You alright?"

Thomas took CHarles' hand and let his brother help him up, "I'm fine," he said shortly, looking away; he was just terribly embarrassed, "Let's just go," he muttered, already walking towards the tavern where they were staying.

Nico stepped away, frowning. "Did he say why he wanted to kill me?"

Maggie wanted to pull him back, enjoy the comfort of his embrace, but she knew they didn’t have time for that. “I didn’t hear the whole story. He called you a murderer. That you killed everyone he loved.” Her voice grew quiet, unsure if it was true or not.

"I... I don't-" Nico stammered, clearly confused. He took a step back, looking out the window. "I don't recall killing anyone he would have cared about." He turned back to her again, eyes wide. "Wait, where are your brothers?"
