"Why do you insist on putting yourself in danger when you're so fragile?" Nico asked, shaking his head. The town was coming into view, the familiar scents and sounds assaulting his senses. Seemed like the place had not changed in all those years.

(Im sorry. Its Clares fault!)

Ainslie followed Thomas into the house and followed him along as they headed to the foyer. Whats all the commotion?

Peggy sighed, Im sure its not that serious Ruthie. Well be okay. I promise. No one is going to hurt you.

<**if any of yall wanna play the ghosts feel free**>

"Didn't mean to hit a nerve," Nico said wryly. "Yeah, yeah, follow me." He led them into town, down the all-too familiar path towards the doctor. Nico felt his adrenaline spike. He wanted to run. He wasn't ready to face the past. Not yet.

Once again shoving the dread aside, Nico stepped up to the office, holding the door open for Charles. The moment they stepped inside, an older woman approached them. Her once-red hair was tinged with grey, and faint lines were beginning to form around her eyes and mouth. For a split second Nico wondered if she recognized him, after all of those years.

"Hello, how can I-" She cut herself off upon seeing him, eyes widening. "Nicholas?"

Thomas had hoped that nothing more dramatic would occur in a few short moments he'd been outside with Ainslie but of course they weren't that fortunate. "What is going on now?" he inquired, eyes drawn to Ruth then Peggy.

"No, I'm not-"

"You haven't aged a day, what, how is this possible? I-" the woman babbled, taking a few steps back. He had to do something, and fast.

"He's my father," Nico said quickly. "Ah, Nicholas is. I'm... I'm Will Ofstedt," he explained. "And, uh, this is my friend, Charles. He broke his arm, really could use some help."

The woman raised an eyebrow, but nodded slowly. Clearly believing that Nico had an adult son who looked just like him was far easier than believing that Nico himself hadn't aged in a few decades. She waved for Charles to follow her. "Come on sweetie, let's get you looked at."

Maggie had broken off from the two, wandering deeper into the house. Whatever Ruth was afraid of wasn't her concern. But she had promised Nico she'd get them the best room, which meant the master bedroom. It was obvious he was uncomfortable there, so she had resigned it to be her mission to make the place look less old and sad.

Thank you, Charles said with relief as he followed the woman. She seemed really kind, which was nice. He glanced back at Nico, realizing they should come up with a story as to why the house is going to be occupied after this long.

Nico waited in the foyer, doing his best to come up with a detailed, believable backstory for his new persona. He would probably have to form quite a bit of documents to inherit the house, too. Ugh, what a pain.

"Please have a seat," the woman told Charles. She set about preparing painkillers and her tools. "So, what brings you boys into our little town?"

Oh, well, uh...Will, my good pal Will, hes involved with my sister so we all took a family trip here to visit his ancestral homeland, Charles explained, knowing he was sounding dramatic. He didnt want to be too specific, though, not until they all sat down and hashed out a backstory.
