As Peggy went to tell his family, Thomas headed out to the street to hail down a cab. He couldn’t believe his fathers stubbornness!

Robert said nothing as the girl came in to bid their goodbyes. He simple ate his dinner in silence, not even bothering to question the young man’s intentions with his daughter

Maggie looked to Peggy apologetically, visibly saddened by the outcome of the night. “You’ll be back, though?” She confirmed.

Peggy nodded, "We booked the hotel for a couple nights, so yes, we'll be back tomorrow," she said and looked right at Robert, "Try again." she said softly and then turned, "Thank you for the meal Mrs. Juniper." she said as she headed to the door.

Robert met her eyes for a moment the looked back down at his bowl with  with brow furrowed and and jaw clenched.

Thomas had hailed down a cab and was waiting for peggy, holding the door open. The sooner they got away the better. He knew any conversation with his father was going to be challenging but he really had not anticipated it going that disastrously. He could only imagine how things would go if they ever had to tell his parents about being vampires.

Shirley waved goodbye sadly. “You will always be welcome here,” she said with a pointed glare at her husband.

Nico walked outside alongside Maggie. "Hey, like I said, nobody died. I'd consider that a win."

Maggie groaned. “The night is still young. God only knows what will happen tomorrow too.”

Peggy nodded, "We will be back. Thank you Mrs. Juniper. Good night," she responded and then walked out to Thomas and got into the cab with him.

Thomas got in the cab and leaned back in the seat, just staring up at the roof of he car with a mix of anger and regret; his eyes were noticeably red and puffy.

Peggy told the cabbie which hotel and then looked at Thomas. She frowned and put her fingers through his, “He's being foolish.” She said quietly, “You admit you were wrong, what more can he expect? You cannot reserve time.”

Thomas gripped her hand as he gazed out the cab window are the house, "I just don't know what else I can do to fix this. He's my father and while he can be impossible to deal with sometimes, I still love him. I don't want this to be the end of our relationship"

Maggie pulled Nico back inside the house after watching her brother go sadly. She rounded on her father then, still at the table. “How can you be so stupid!” She hissed. “He’s your son, do you really want to never speak to him again?”

Peggy looked at him and wished she had an answer. She just knew she would keep trying to get into Robert’s head.

Thomas tore his eyes from the house as the cab started to drive off and looked to his wife; his beautiful, loving and supportive wife. He smiled and leaned over to kiss her, "Thank you for be there with me to face this," he said, "At least my mother seems quite taken by you. I'd say that's a silver lining," he said.

Robert threw his spoon down and sat back in his chair, anger from his conversation with Thomas and that girl still simmering in his eyes. "He chose her over the family," Robert said stubbornly, "Now I don't want to hear another word about it," he said.

"Why did you have to drag me back here," Nico muttered under his breath, pulling his arm free from Maggie's hold. If she expected him to some how rush in and save the day again she was barking up the wrong tree. He only knew how to fix problems with violence.
