“Thanks for staying,” Elijah said to him, certain he was probably hating it. Elijah was hating it, only because he wanted them all to just go home.

"Hey, it's no problem," Jaime said, shrugging, "I know you'd probably prefer being alone though," Jaime said, noting both their expressions.

“It’s probably better if we’re not,” Elijah admitted as he leaned back in his seat.

Norah looked at Elijah then Jaime, not wanting to be reminded of what the thing in her head meant. "Do you think we really need to be worried about that?" Norah asked Elijah, looking back at him.

The car ride was silent and uncomfortable for Sadie, they were clearly all in their own world. She felt certifiably miserable, and she couldn’t help but feel like it wasn’t fair. They should have just stayed home where it was safe and devoid of all the drama.

Awe Sadie, yes you should have :p)

jasper grabbed the bags from the back and walked with the girls back into the hospital; Outside and starting to set up equipment were some local news channels. He grunted irritably and paid them no attention as they went through the front entrance.  He managed to convince the front counter woman to let astrid and Sadie come with him to norahs room, which had been a hard sell. He appreciated this as it meant not just anyone could waltz into his sisters room; they were protecting her in some capacity.

“Yeah, I do,” Elijah said, not really wanting to sugarcoat it. He had fleetingly hoped that just taking the phone would have been enough, but it was obvious now that wasn’t the case. They’d taken control of him twice now, so who was to say they wouldn’t again. And they had no idea of knowing when that would happen, either.

Norah bit her lip hard, trying to wrap her mind around what it all meant, "If he can control you, why did he need to do this to me?" Norah wondered; it seemed cruelly unnecessary. "Do you think he can control the chips from a distance?" Norah asked Elijah.

“I dont know,” Elijah said, shaking his head. He had a few ideas as to why he’d done it, but none of them he really liked.

Norah shut her eyes tight, trying not to cry in front of Elijah again, "Why can't he just leave us alone," Norah said. She was tired of it all; tired of the games being played with their lives.

Sadie followed the others into the room, her eyes landing on Norah before anyone else. She really was awake. It was hard to believe after everything that had happened. It felt like they were intruding on the couple, Norah’s eyes closed and Elijah looking stressed. “We’ve got stuff,” she said, holding up the bag of Norahs stuff.

Norah opened her eyes and quickly pulled herself together as her brother and the two girls entered the room. Her eyes slid past Sadie and Jasper, landing on Astrid; she was the only person in the room that could truly understand what Norah was going through. Did it ever get easier? "Thank you," Norah said, responding to Sadie, "We really appreciate you all being here for us," Norah said, trying to smile but it didn't reach her eyes.

(Sorry sorry we’ve been playing clue)

Elijah nodded in agreement but didn’t say anything, just brushed his thumb over Norah’s knuckles absently.

awe Clue, I haven't played that in years!)

Jasper smiled softly and put the bag down on a chair in the room and then stood beside Astrid, his hand brushing against hers, "Well, we all care about you," Jasper said, which made Norah blush because her brother was rarely so...sappy. "So, we brought you a change of clothes and some toiletries," he said, changing the subject, "and one of us will stay with you tonight just to be on the safe side," Jasper said, not wanting to leave either of them alone. He'd stay up all night if he had to, for Norah.
