Darwinist or Clanker?
« on: October 14, 2009, 04:00:46 PM »

Based solely on fabricated animals vs. mechanical creations, without regard to other factors (related characters, countries, etc.), do you think you'd be a Darwinist or a Clanker?  (And no "I'd be a combination of the two" -- you can wax poetic about both but you can only pick one for this poll!)

Why did you pick the group you did?  What do you think are the pros and cons of your group?

At first I thought this would be an easy decision, but sheesh is this ever tough! I love animals, and I think it's terribly clever to use them as vehicles and ships as well as have that knowledge of science and DNA so early, but I also think the Clankers really have a good thing going for them in regards to their weaponry and machines.
I think the thing that really puts me in the middle of the two is their closed-mindedness! It would drive me absolutely bonkers if I were either a Clanker or a Darwinist. And also, it seems to me like the beasts and the walkers are not perfected, so both sides have the same amount of advantages and disadvantages.

I know I can't take an in between, but I think it's fair to say that I would be both and either =P

I haven't picked my side yet.  The Darwinists' fabricated creatures bring up lots of hard questions about sentience, but the Clankers' machines are so. . . . .unfeeling.

That may be a case of incorrect data sampling, Saira-La.
