"Ma'am" is short for "madam", so the opposite of that would be "monsieur."  ;D

At this steampunk panel I went to, they said something about using bleach pens and fabric paint to draw gears and cogs and other designs on a plain pair of jeans or a jacket. It's an interesting touch, and it works for a toned-down casual look. :3
