I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,

To say that for destruction ice
Is also great

If they can "release" them, the can give them lessions.

I was bored one day so I decided to re-read "The Giver" which never looses its awesomeness. As I read though I started to wonder if Jonas lived in the sme era as Tally, What do you think?

WARNING: THERE WILL BE MANY SPOILERS OF THE GIVER BEYOND THIS POINT.

The Giver s8is obviously set ino the future. Elephants and all the annimals are extinct, like in the Uglies world. In Jonas' city they dont have real feelings and are taught many untrue things. Things were made equal, it would only make sense for hem to be pretties but as a differant sort. I think cities may have varied throughout continents so maybe Jonas was in Europe...

i just read this book for my third time..it is SO good.... i bought it too :) i think i made a thread or a comment somewhere about how relevant uglies and the giver are to eachother :)
