i only read a little of the hobbit but it was kind of drab and apparently it isnt absolutely necessary to the series so i'm just going to start the fellowship of the ring this evening if i get time

I want to read the Odyssey cuz we're studying Ancient Greece in History, but my history teacher said wait until I'm in college

It's a bit like Austen in that all the sudden the language clicks and it's easier to read.
