Then I think rules 3 and 4 ought to apply.

Good idea Deca. It's a bit annoying when people swear a lot.  Another thing I think you should add, is no putting swear words in a topic title.

Yeah, this isn't being totally followed. I would think people would know not to put swears in a topic title, but still a good idea.

I admit, I say the d-word more then I should (I blame influence from my grandpa and mother), and occasionally the s-word. I've been trying to stop though. I think the f-word is never justified though, it's just really not necessary. Being only 13, I really shouldn't be saying things like that anyway. -_-

I don't like using any of them, especially in public. It's one thing to hit your toe and let a swear slip out. It's totally different when you use it all the time for random reasons. Those words are supposed to be powerful, you relinquish that power when you use them commonly.

In my opinion of you swear constantly it loses it's strength. If you only swear when you're upset then people realize when you're really upset. Otherwise it just becomes a thing to say when you want to push the boudaries or to horrify.

Sometimes in books my characters swear all the time, but only if that's part of their personality. I make their word choice reflect who they are.

i have a charrie though who seems like the type who would swear a lot. He swears more than my other charries but it is still rare.

My charrie says d*** quite a lot, (when she's angry, which is many a time) My mother is probably the most religious person you could think of, and she says the d word (But only really when she's angry... which is often... XD) Lets just say that my Mom's side of the family has short tempers.
