"What's your favorite place to write?"
In my upstairs office in Sydney.
"What do you think of our usernames?"
They're all very YOU.
"What other authors do you know?"
Holly Black. Cassie Clare. John Green. Emily Jenkins. David Levithan. Garth Nix. Maureen Johnson. Robin Wasserman. SO MANY MORE>\.
"do you like the music of Evanescence?"
Don't know them! I have toured in Toronto a couple of times.
"Did you intend for Deryn's last name to be linked to the royal Stewarts? I found that fascinating..."
I just liked the cuttingness and smartness of it.
"Is Jaspert still alive?"
Well, he'd be over 100 . . . (Heh.)
"I do have a question but I'm new at this. I'm writing my thesis on Dialogue vs Exposition in YA Lit. Which do you feel is essential in order to grab the reader's attention?? I'd appreciate it if you can give me an answer! Thanks!"
Dialog seems to be a dominant storytelling mode in YA. Many writers I know do "dialog spines" and then write the scenes around them.
"You realize that Quite Peculiar has its own TVTROPES PAGE?
"
YES.
Reenie, I am answering the next question of yours I come across.
