Lol Passchendaele. :p We're watching the movie in history. I really can't stand it... Anyway, I found a parody book of the Hunger Games called 'Hunger Pains' or something like that. Has anyone read it? I was going to buy it, but decided against it...

Haven't seen the movie, but I can just imagien it. Oh yes, go run straight at the trench full of Germans who may or may not have a Maxim and/or far superior machine gun...

lol. Im just weary about the war he picked. I mean. I get that he liked wwi (I love learning about it too. it's far more interesting that wwii...for me) but I think WWII would have made a better setting somehow for clanker vs beaties.

Probably to keep it within the "generally accepted" steampunk age. WWII would be too close to our present time to have that steampunkish feel.

Steampunk can take place at any time, really, so long as the technology within the story stays relatively the same (everything is powered by steam, clockwork and some electricity) :p It's just mostly Victorian because that's the easiest and most recognized. :p

I want that dog.

Ahaha. I don't really have problems with books. They're how I view music: some people like certain books, and hate others. I try not to judge.

But for the record...I thought Evermore by Alyson Noel was a waste of time. It was almost like a remake of Twilight...but worse.

He talked about it on his blog or something somewhere. Apparently WWI was the absolute furthest he could stretch it. Also, he got the idea from losing a parent and feeling like your world falls apart, which is where Alek's story came from.

I saw that, and I'm still not sure if it's legal.

I agree Beth. I stopped after Blue Moon. I met the author though. cx

The Eleventh Plague- The title's The Eleventh Plague, so you'd thinkthe book would be about the eleventh plague, right? It wasn't. The book looked so good and by the summary on the back it seemed like a good book, but nothing really happened til over halfway through the book. The characters bored me, the plot bored me, and ugh, it just wasn't a good book.

So Yesterday- I love Scott and all, but So Yesterday really bored me.

Leviathan- Again, I love Scott, but Levithan just didn't interest me at all. Too much history.
