Leviathan was the 1st non-Transformer book I've bought for over 4 years... The last book i've bought was some of Dan Brown's back in 2009... It was also the only series I went through the trouble of getting the 1st edition hard cover for (the ONLY other hardcover book i own is Transformers: Exodus)

On top of that, I searched my whole country, only to find they have it only in softcover format, so i had to import all 3 Leviathan books from the US. ( I live in Asia).

That should tell you what I think of Leviathan.  ;D

Eh, I like it, but then again it's not for everyone. And people's views and preferences differ...

Not a huge Dan Brown fan either.
And actually, I didn't like So Yesterday either. Or Peeps and the sequels, actually. I don't like fantasy/magic much. Uglies and Leviathan are my go-to WesterBooks. And even on that subject there's SO MUCH he could have done with them. But of course they were writen for the main-stream crowd, not the military-obsessed-scienctific-history-gamer-nuts.

Dan Brown... it's just bad writing, pure and simple.

I enjoyed Peeps. Scott is one of the few people to actually make vampires original.
I don't get what the commotion is about the Fifty Shades of Grey. It's just ANOTHER book about a girl/woman falling for a "mysterious" guy. It's the Twilight formula except they don't cut the sex out. So it's really True Blood minus the vampires.

Sorta like the Anita Blake books then...except AB is actually cool. And it has wereleoaperds and wereSWANS. Yes, seriously.
And on vampires; I really don't like them. The hell if I know why. Though if Westerfeld managed to make them interseting, I might give Peeps another shot.

Peeps is one of the best vampire books. It isn't even really about vampirism either, not in the sense most people think about it anyway. Hehe wereswans. Yeah, true blood has werepanthers and even an owl I think. But that's beside the point. So have any of you actually read Fifty Shades of Grey? I just want to learn more about it. From what I've read about it, it's just a sex book.

Well now I really must read Peeps. And yes, wereswans. No idea how that works.
and no, I haven't read Fifty Shades of Grey, but I may try it out of boredom. No clue what it's about. To Wikipedia.

"Fifty Shades of Grey is New York Times #1 bestselling erotic fiction paperback". That's the opening of the Wiki artical. That answer your question?

Also from said page:
"The Fifty Shades Trilogy was developed from a Twilight fanfiction originally entitled Master of the Universe and published episodically on fanfiction websites under the penname "Snowqueen's Icedragon". The piece featured characters named after Stephenie Meyer's characters in Twilight, Edward Cullen and Bella Swan. After comments concerning the sexual nature of the material, James removed the story from the fanfiction websites and published it on her own website, FiftyShades.com. Later she decided to rewrite Master of the Universe as an original piece with the principal characters renamed Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele and shortly prior to its publication withdrew the fanfiction version from her website."

Now THIS is interseting. Who knew Twilight fanfiction could actually amount to anything but groan-worthy work?

WOW!!!!! I can't believe I had an accurate description of that! So it is Twilight but with the sex and no vampires.
