Let's see my personal plan:
1) build a particle accelerator.
2) Using said accelerator, make lots of anti-matter.
3) using anti-matter, build the world's most powerful generator.
4) mount said generator on satellite.
5) Build heavy duty Energy Cannon.
6) Threaten Governments to obey me using my newly constructed super-weapon.

Step one: Wait until somebody else has taken over the world
Step two: Assassinate them
Step three: ????
Step four: Profit. (ie, take over that person's role as user of the world c; )
