zane just struck me as one of those "out there" guys...he never went to the smoke...he chickened out even though he was the flippin' LEADER...it was his flippin' idea and he stayed behind and even after being threatened to be turned into a special (you gotta admit, who hasn't dreamed about being a special) he sold them out which made them target tally and keep an eye on shay etc. then he goes and takes experimental pills that (in the letter to self) were stated to both be taken, and then (how's this for intelligent?) he doesn't help her get through her desicion and he doesn't take the pills from her even though if they both take one there'd obviously be a risk and isn't a boyfriend supposed to CARE for his girlfriend's safety? especially in books!!!!! smart? i think not...he reminds me of a vulnerable child who relies on other around him to get through the day...don't get me wrong, i love zane, i just don't agree that he's intelligent, even for a pretty

Agreed, Zane is most certainly not the sharpest tool in the box and he's definately missing a few slates sometimes, but he's still by far my favourite character (well, besides friz of course ;))

I think it might have just been the hair =/

Zane just can't take a hint, though.

pinky and the brain is a cartoon about two mice trying to take over the world, as you would expect, Brain is the clever one with all the plans, but Pinky ruins them because he's so dopey... my sister's mouse is named Pinky

well no charcter is perfect! sure zane made alot of mistakes but without him tally would still be a bubblehead! and its not his fault of some of the circumstances he got put into. and i know i would chicken out of going to the smoke! at least he tried to be a good leader! i dont think he is dumb at all, and plus his brain is eaten at! cut him a little slack! lol
