The Dove Keeper by Emily James Ray (It's awfully fantastic!)
Summary: Frank is a seventeen year old who doesn't want to grow up and has little aspirations for anything beyond standing outside the local liquor store and getting drunk. But when he meets Gerard, the old, ageing, and well known fag artist, he is offered something he cannot turn down.
http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=underwater_sky&keyword=The+Dove+Keeper&filter=allI did a report on it last year after already reading it once.
I own it now after my friend bought it for me!
The Dove Keeper has basically changed my view on EVERYTHING. On art, beauty, sex, relationships. It really IS an incredible book. A lot of people whom I know read it think it's also a great book. My friend who gave it to me loves it.
It's kind of long. On the physical copy I have of the book, it's a little over 600 pages with about size 7 font. But it is honestly the bet book I've ever read.
I wouldn't recommend reading it if you're not prepared to read sex scenes, (there's QUITE a few of them) large age differences in a relationship, OR for both the sex and relationship part, a GAY relationship.
However, if you do want to read it, I WOULD like to say that the first chapter is a little lengthy, but I think we all know a book with a boring chapter or two. Once you get into it, which shouldn't be long after the second chapter, you'll enjoy it.
When I first read it, I got up early to read it on the computer before I went to school and as soon as I got back. During school I read it on my phone (which is REALLY crappy). I read it ALL straight for 2 months until I got it done. And, gosh, what a book! The second time I read it, it only took me a week because I downloaded it onto the Nook my mom gave me for Christmas.
The link given above has MOST of the chapters. (A few are also out of order, but I'm sure you can figure that out

) However, there are a few not on there. They are on the author's website:
http://underwater-sky.livejournal.com/ And you'll have to find them from there.
If any of you guys have any questions about the book, I can tell you.

I'd be glad to!
There is also an epilogue. Message me if you want the link.
The sequel is coming out in (I think) September of 2012. (I AM STOKED!)
ALSO: If you want the link to where you can buy the book, I can give you that as well. ^^
