Quarantine: The Loners by Lex Thomas

(1/1)

Allie-wa<3:
"It was just another ordinary day at McKinley High- until a massive explosion devastated the school. When lover David Thorpe tried to help his English teacher to safety, the teacher convulsed and died right in front of him. And that was just the beginning.

A year later, McKinley has descended into chaos. All the students are infested with a virus that makes them deadly to adults. The school is under military quarantine. The teachers are gone. Violent gangs have formed based on high school social cliques. Without a gang, you're as good as dead. And David has no gang. It's just him and his little brother, Will, against the whole school.

In this frighteningly dark and captivating novel, Lex Thomas locks readers inside a school where kids don't fight to be popular, they fight to stay alive."

Has anyone read it besides me? It just came out a little while ago. And boy, it is goooooood. Not Gone good, but The Maze Runner good. Its different. Ish. AND, someone died within the first 4 chapters, so it's totally Allie approved. If you like dystopias you should definitely read it. :3

Straif:
Sounds like a cross between The Tribe and Lord of the Flies. I like it. Hunger Games killer, you think?

Allie-wa<3:
I don't think it was a Hunger Games killer. I was expecting it to be almost exactly like one of the other dystopias I've read, but it wasn't. There weren't many similarities between Quarantine and any other book, really.

Straif:
That's what I'm saying. It's like Mortal Engines in the steampunk world. Somethign that shakes everything up and tells you that, no, this dystopia is NOT populated by people who will fall in love and live happily ever after. It is hell on earth, and people can and WILL die, and usually not for any good reasons.

Allie-wa<3:
Oh okay. :3
