  4. drat. next time you have a tour try to come to philly and/or langhorne. (that is if you have any say on where you go.) i have a question about book signings. if you’re book signing is before the book comes out, do the people there have the chance to get it early so you can sign it for them?

  15. WHY!!!! Why must everybody cool in the world just hop RIGHT over the top of Oregon? Huh? HUH? CA, great, WA, absolutely, BUT IGNORE THE HIPPY STATE IN THE MIDDLE! It’s how it always goes. I live in one of the most boring states ever.

    C’mon…one little itty bit stop in Oregon? Portland has an awesome book store (go Powells!) that would just loooooove it if you came. Seriously. Then you’d only be four hours away from me. Four hours I could do in a heart beat.

  18. so i’m guessing that’s a “no” on the New York appearances, but…

    not even anything in the city? come on, what happened to the previously mentioned things “in the week of the 21st” or something like that…sadness.

    see, if there was a signing in the city, i might have been able to convince my parents to take me there, and i would’ve bought a copy of extras so that i could get it signed.

    but i’ve promised myself that at some point in my life (which will hopefully be in the next year or so lol) that i will get a book signed by scott. and i’ll be bringing my whole collection so BEWARE, SCOTT! I’M COMING WITH THE WHOLE LOT OF THEM!

    who cares if they say the limit is one? i’ll just get as many signed as possible before security drags me out.

  20. YAY!!!!! NAPERVILLE!!!!! I MIGHT ACTUALLY BE ABLE TO SEE YOU!!!!! YES!!!!! but thats a BIG (IN ALL CAPS BIG) maybe. hmmm… lets see if i left my house at 6:00 I could be there by 7:00 and if i left the thing at 8 i could probly be home before 9 (my bedtime. yes how lame is that). but getting my mom inline would be a huge problem. cuz it is a school night… why couldnt u go to naperville on friday (oct. 5th)???? i hav that day off of school. o well. i see what i can do. but uh this is gonna sound really lame after all that ^ … but uh what exactly do you do at these things??? and do i need a ticket??? how do i get one??? and i know i will feel so totally akward actually seeing you in person. like some average crazed fan. and i am SO NOT average. im Special (heh heh heh…). either way…. (o wait i guess i shouldnt give out that information on the internet…. everybody forget i said that! 😛 ) But i guess ur just too cool for this little town. and we’re not really THAT little. just nobody knows where it is. but my sisters go to soccer tournaments in naperville all the time so i know that place pretty well. i dunno.     right now i wearing a shirt that says “i love peace” on it in hebrew. but the “love” is a heart, not the word written out. it took my friends 15 minutes to figure it out. well actually 20 total. 5 to figure out the language (“hibwer” as she called it), and then fifteen to figure out anything besides the heart meaning “love.”

  24. and i’m listening to the 30-second previews of jonas brothers songs on itunes. yes i’m in 9th grade and like the jonas brothers (and high school musical), why are you staring at me like that?

    they’re doing a show relatively near me this winter, and my friend kelly said her mom is planning to get us all (kelly, me, and 3 of our other friends) tickets to it as her birthday present once they go on sale. she planted the idea in her mind last week, and her mom has (awesomely amazingly) agreed to it.

    sooooo excited…the only thing that’s getting me down is the fact that they’re on tour with hannah montana, who should really go fall in a ditch. good actress, can’t stand her singing.

    sorry if i’m offending any diehard miley/hannah/miley/destiny hope fans. yes, i read in a magazine that miley cyrus’s birth name was destiny hope. there’s another reason for her to go fall in a ditch.

  35. Taylor you’re dumb. he signs in NYC all the time because he is a new yorker. Just like me. Tho I’m in queens not manhattan. He’s signed my books in queens and in Brooklyn and in manhattan. He’s totally fool!!!

  36. Scott, Jeez. You’d think they’d scheduale a signing in Texas. Especially since you won a Tayhas award (Or atleast your book ‘Peeps’ did). Which is only a Texas award, kinda like the Bluebonnet except for High Schoolers.
    I understand that we are quite a ways away from Australia and New York… But still! We here in Texas are awaiting Extras very.. Very.. much. I doubt my librarians will be able to hold themselves until then. I gave them my new paperback Specials to show them the sacred text (A.K.A The first 3 chapters of Extras!) Chels died when I gave it to her, screaming and yelling.
    And it would be easier to control a mob than to control everyone around here when October comes around…. Kiki Strike, The Faerie Path, AND Extras come out on the same day.

  48. i actually have two of my books signed. peeps and so yesterday. none of the uglies trilogy though.
    also, i hate both hannah montana and high school musical. actually, last year my school did high school musical as thier musical last year. and pathetically i went. but mainly cuz all my friends were in it. and i sat in the cynical corner.

    and so many books come out on october second! it’s like a publishing thing, like where lots come out on may 1. my list is

  61. yes, dessgrl, i know. but i play basketball, and believe it or not, the girls on the varsity team are the ones that got us all into it. yeah they learned all the dance moves and stuff.

    and i went and checked the appearances section awhile back, ty, and saw those ones from last year, but i never thought to check then. i only started reading this blog religiously in december of last year.

    and i’d rather go by Lizzy-wa’s morals and say “Let’s all be friends! You guys are awesome!” then spend my time defending myself. to someone i’ll never see.

It has been forever since i’ve got on here and checked your blogs lets face it senior year in high school is no walk in the park and with all these tough classes i mean seriously Pre-Cal and Physics why would they torture me like that well anyway but i get on to find all these awesome new blogs and info on specials which i LOVED i FINALLY got the closer i needed for specials.lol.     I stay off of fun websites for 4 hours to finish my Biology project, and there’s already over 70 comments on here! I was having some major internal conflict the whole time, too. I believe I even had a conversation with myself out loud.

    It went on for ages. That’s what I get for leaving things to the last minute. But, I’m here now! At least until my conscience gets the better of me and tells me to go do Spanish homework.

    Agh! I wish I lived in NYC, seriously. My parents used to live there, but they just HAD to move to Georgia when they had me. Everything goes on up there! EVERYTHING! No matter what it is, you can be sure that it will happen in NYC at some point. I’m so going to live there someday.

    I’m now slightly obsessed with getting a book signed by one of my favorite authors, any of them! I JUST WANT A SIGNED BOOK!. My friend Emily’s mom was going to take us to Stephenie Meyer’s book signing last Friday (and it was like 30 minutes away, too!), but then Emily’s little brother had to go and get sick.
    I wanted to beat the crap out of him, even though it wasn’t his fault; haha. (Wow you guys must think I’m evil, wanting to harm an eight year old and all. But I’m not crazy, trust me! I wouldn’t really do that! Okay, moving on!)
    But I am determined! IT WILL HAPPEN, SOMEDAY! Even if I have to hitch a ride in some random strangers car to get there, I will get a book signed by someone. (Okay, I wouldn’t really do that. But you get my point.)
    My eyes are starting to hurt. I’m guessing that means I should stare at a computer screen for four hours straight.
    Holy cow that was long. 😛 I need to learn to stop rambling.

  107. Note to self: Stop watching the season premieres of shows you haven’t see the entire first season of!
    I watched Heroes last night, and was totally lost. I need the 1st season on DVD. I love how almost every show comes out on DVD now…especially Gilmore Girls, since they freakin’ canceled it! But, no matter. I have all the seasons on DVD *evil laugh*

    I can’t wait for the House premiere either! That’s one of my favorite shows. One of the bajillion.

    That’s a good idea, going as a Special for Halloween. I still don’t know what I’m going to be. I was thinking of going as the Grim Reaper, but everyone says that’s too depressing.
    I know tons of people that are going as Hannah Montana. (I love that show, and yes, I watch Disney Channel way more than any 9th grader in their right mind should, but how do people not recognize her? SHE’S GOT THE SAME FACE! I mean, hello! That annoys me how no one can see that she’s Miley when she wears the Hannah wig.

Though actually, they’ve improved greatly now that they’ve been thoroughly watered down to something more mainstream-ish (and that the little kid’s voice has started changing, and he’s learned where the notes are and how to hit them!)   179. scott, i have so many things to do on the 2nd!!! i have a volleyball game until 7:30, i have a National Jounior Hounor Society (NJHS) meeting until 4:00. (the volleyball game starts as soon as the meeting ends.) so, as you can see, i am very busy that day. if you have any power to change the day it comes out to another day, preferably before the 2nd, please do it. i wont be able to get the book until around 8:00. then i would have to do homework. so i wont be able to read the book until the 3rd. when i signed up for volleyball, no where did it say that i wont be able to get extras. (i didnt sign up for NJHS, i was invited)

    Dude, one of my friends told me that she just finished reading Specials. I was like, ” You READ?” I didn’t even know she read outside of school! And of course, I launched into the usual “OMG THE NEXT BOOK COMES OUT ON TUESDAY!”, which scares most people. Haha.

  230. squee!!! i just got the “I’m an Extra” shirt in the mail (from the LOLYA contest @ Inside A Dog)!!! and the *signed* sample copy of Extras! (squee!!! i thought it was just gonna be the shirt!!! *dieing from happiness* lol) and 2 mini Inside a Dog buttons (and a ton of bookmarks!) I’m happy! I’m happy! lol.

    yay only THREE days till Extras!!! I’m SO going to make my mom drive me to Barnes and Noble!!! i would pre-order from Amazon, but last time i did that it took like a week… *sigh*
    I’m almost done re-reading Pretties! i should have it done by the time Extras comes out =D
