Finally home.

Before I pass out, I’d like to thank everyone who made the trip so awesome: all the librarians, booksellers, sales reps, and teachers who we met along the way. And also the folks who drove us around, kept us fed, and got me to every single event on time.

But most of all thanks to all of you who showed up full of enthusiasm, comments, and unexpected questions. Plus fan art.

Finally, thanks to my publicist Lila who organized the whole trip, made key improvisations along the way, and put up with a steady stream of emails from me. Not to mention putting me in this hotel in Seattle that had these really cool bathtubs . . .

You see, the bath fills up from the ceiling! Now maybe that’s not so different from a bathrub with a shower, but this isn’t a shower: It’s a bathtub that fills up from the ceiling!

For some reason it made me very happy.

  1. First to comment! You’ve done great. I’m glad you get some randr. I’m about halfway through extras and it’s amazing. I haven’t enev finished it and I know I want a fifth.

  2. Wowwww! This is the first time I’ve been in the top 10!!! Anyway, I love the ceiling-filling bathtubs, but I’d probably be the one leaning in the turn on the tap and get doused in it!

    I wish I could go to NYC, but I’m so busssyyy!!! Ugh, stupid classes.

    why are bathtubs in hotels always so much cooler? they’re deeper, the showers have more pressure, and they have those cool safecracker dials.

    so….gonna start that fourth midnighters with darkling werewolves now? just kidding.

    now i too go to pass out. i think i need to start budgeting more sleep time.

  22. Is the Uglies trilogy movie gonna have open auditions for the part of Tally? Like auditions for people without agents? Thanks soooo much you guys ar awesome! =) Also, links would be great.. For people without agents. Thanks and I already emailed Scott Westerfeld but I know he can reply better on his blog.. Totally icey =)of the book. Also, do you know websites that say if there are going to be auditions open to the public? Is there an age thing like only 14 years old or whatever? I’m not 14 but still lol. Also, is there going to be a 5th Uglies book? Or a 4rth Midnighters book? If there is a 5th midnighters book can it pretty pretty please be about tallywa??? Thanks and please answer all my questions! thanks guys.

    So i was kind of wondering about the 4th midnighters book too.
    And of corse about the 5th uglies.
    And i wanted to say that i hate to love Aya because she is so much like me, she knows selfishness is wrog but she is selfish anyway. Hehe
    So can i have the bath?

    So I was reading Extras today and this girl comes up to me and is all, “Oh! He’s coming here! Scott WwesterfIELD! Yay!”
    And so I look up and say, “Sorry. Scott already came… um, I went and saw him. Er.. yeah. Have fun reading your Westerfeld books until he comes again.”

  32. somebody asked me today what i was gonna be for halloween, and this happened.
    so i say—a person from a book none of you have read. (i’m being melissa)
    and this girl says—i read! what book is it?
    and i’m *skeptical*—it’s called midnighters.
    and this girl’s friend says—oh, i read that.
    and i’m *even more skeptical*—oh yeah? what’s it about?
    so she’s like—ummm…dragons, right?
    and i just stare at her.
    i’m like—dude. it’s about a high school in oklahoma.
    so she goes—oh. yeah. right.

    people are scary sometimes. no, make that all the time.

I was at Barnes and Noble last week, and there was this HUGE stack of Extras books in a corner! they came up to just below my chest, and i’m 5″5′ (or is it 5’5″? i can never remember in what order the apostrophes come in…)! and there was about 5 books in a second tower next to the first one… that one had a bunch of Twilight books (but not as much as Extras!), about 4 Betrayed books (the sequel to Marked ^_^), and a couple of books I didn’t reconize. it was so kewl though! ^_^

  39. lol at lunch last week my friends and i were trying to figure out how to make a hoverboard… with lifting fans, of course. cuz we dont have a magnetic grid 😉
    haha my friends and i are SO addicted 2 the uglies books! we keep saying things like “…it keeps me ICY!” and stuff XD it’s so funny. people give us strange looks. i luv getting strange looks! i dunno why. guess cuz it means i’m acting weird… which is a total compliment to me! haha i hate being normal! mwahahahaha!!! ^-^

  40. Yes, everyone at Joseph Beth Bookstore was awesome. Those were some really interesting questions, too. But by the time we got home last night I was all about the sleepy.

  47. Omg, that is a bubbly bath tub! My bath tub is boring, it pours water from a faucet, thats connected to the wall. I would totally take a shower in there even though its just water, o and ya well we have cool things in Texas to like, The Alamo, ya its made of clay. And ya we have ,uhhh, this wall in the shape of a c and it has water coming down the sides of it and it doesn’t have a fence gate and if you stand on the edge, you’ll fall! O and ya you cant forget, we have, ya we have, ya we have, give me time, gosh! OH, ok, we have really nice people and we don’t talk funny! Come here Scott-la!

  48. I no, im not the most normal teen, i mean y be boring ol’ normal! You only live once, i love being funny! O ands my friends are kinda odd, everyone laughs at my jokes, and someone had a dance party, i was the one who got 5 girls to start dancing! Live. Laugh. Love.

  49. Dude! Just got my CosmoGirl magazine and guess what? EXTRAS WAS NUMBER TEN! Well, number ten on the ‘Top Ten things to Read/Hear/See/Do’! I was flipping through randomly when I saw a familiar miniturized blueish cover, I read it and was surprised because most of the time they have Sarah Dessen (Or whatever) books. I’m glad they picked a GOOD book this time. xD Welcome home, BTW!
