I’m literally blogging from the lobby right now. The hotel has forced us to check out (we’re flying to Detroit tonight) and we haven’t been picked up for the appearance at Pooh’s Corner in Grand Rapids yet.
So I’m sitting here on a couch next to the gift shop and remembering that the wonderful German publisher of Peeps, Kosmos, have been sponsoring fan-art comics contests lately.
I don’t have all the info about these contests, but down below you can see a few of the wonderful efforts they’ve inspired. They prove that manga and western-style comics are going strong in Germany.

All of them very awesome, as are many of the others submitted. Once I figure out where these contests are being held, I’ll let you know. (My German is shaky.) I think more might be coming in.
Oh, and here’s the cover of the Kosmos version. A special non-existent prize for the first commenter to translate the tag line. (It’s from the book, and I figured it out on sight.)

Kay-wa: ohhhh…that makes more sense. when i first read ur post i was like “She has to work and can’t play softball? Unfair!!” but now i’m like “OHHH… she plays softball and doesn’t work. Makes more sense!”
Hm. I haven’t had braces. But my canine teeth are really sharp and pointyish so my friend calls me a vampire. It’s kinda funny. They’re too short for fangs though, Darn…lol.
I had to have my canines filed down because they were too pointy. pity…
When I lost one of my baby canines, I was eating a cheese toated sandwich and the tooth got stuck in the cheese 🙂 lol.
Oh that’s nice! LoL. I like my pointyish teeth. I hate the dentist, I wouldn’t let him touch them! Argh! That happened to me before! Except it was an apple!

I think what you published was actually very reasonable. But, what about this? suppose you added a little content? I mean, I don’t wish to tell you how to run your website, but what if you added a title to maybe grab folk’s attention? I mean %BLOGTITLE% is kinda plain. You ought to peek at Yahoo’s front page and note how they create news titles to get viewers interested. You might add a related video or a related picture or two to grab readers excited about what you’ve got to say. In my opinion, it could bring your website a little bit more interesting.
