This is a quick post to keep all you non-Twitterers up to date.

1) Alan Cumming is performing the audiobook version of Leviathan! For those of you who don’t know, he’s a broadway actor who became famous starring in Cabaret. He’s also known to X-Men fans as Nightcrawler, and he was Fegan Floop (AKA the bad guy) in Spy Kids.

But I was a fan of his way back when he was unknown on these USian shores, and doing a BBC2 show called The High Life, which he co-wrote as well as starring in. It’s about two flight attendants on a somewhat miserable airline called Air Scotia, and really captures what it’s like to have a somewhat miserable job and dream of bigger things.

I knew then that Alan was destined for big things, but it never occurred to me that recording a book of mine might be one of them.

Epic win.

2) My interview with Ana Marie Cox is up on iTunes, and it’s free! So if you desire 35 minutes of me, Ana, and Lizzie Skurnick talking about YA lit and politics, you should check it out. Here’s how:

  9. hah, 87 days left? funny thing, 87 is my what i like to call my lucky number. My birthday is 8/7, my boyfriend’s football number is 87…so yay for 87 days left till leviathan comes out!

  12. Question… you mentioned on your Twitter that you would be posting a contest for the Leviathan postcards on your blog… would that be happening any time soon? Not that I’m impatient or anything… =P

    Also, what accent will Alan Cumming be reading the non-dialogue bits in? My vote is for British.

  19. Alan Cumming??? Dude, Scar from Lion King!!! I think. Oh, if Im wrong Im gonna feel really stupid, but yeah! Sorry, if I ever listen to a book on tape (which Im not really into) itll be Star Trek. Why? Zachary Quintos voice of course.

    Ummm…
    Once there was a girl who said ummm…
    It seemed like a bad habit to some,
    but then, those folks were quite dumb.

    Okay, now I sound quite dumb, but that was the only thing I could com up with off the top of my head. At least it is better than just writng “ummm…” ( at least I think so… ummm… )

  28. you know Scott-La… I’m starting to think that you don’t read all of our posts (well….. ummmm….. it would be kinda hard to read all of them cuz like you get 100s everyday!) ok nvr mind. now i fell bad 4 even saying that! OH I KNOW!!!!!!! a rhyme will cheer me up!!! hmmm let’s think… ok i got one!:

    there’s was a goose
    who’s babies got loose
    mamma goose decided to catch her babies with some juice
    they all came running hear and there
    trying to get some juice
    so mamma swooped them up all nice and close
    this is the end of my little rhyme
    but make sure to come back next time!

    haha! some didn’t really rhyme but they were really close! 8)

  31. oh and btw Scott-La Leviathan doesn’t come out until 86 days 5 hours 14 min. and 3…2….1…. (and so on) seconds!

    Oh, and an update, I was thinking of Jim Cummings. Alan Ive never heard of. Glad we got that all sorted out.

    Oh, and my favorite rhymes are limericks. Here is one I wrote all by myself! Like, four years ago, but I memorized it.

    There once was a lady from Beal
    Whose shoes had a very high heel.
    She tripped off a dock
    and was lunch for a croc.
    Who said “What a very nice meal!”

    Not bad for a 6th grader if I say so myself… 😉

    Laura-wa: Your poem was atrocious. I loved it!!! I was literally laughing out loud. You are my hero for the day.

    The OTHER Tally Youngblood: Spam is spray cheese. Like shaving cream. But cheese. Thats my best description of it. gross, right? And sorry, but Im a hater. I even have a geometric proof that will settle the Harry Potter/Twilight debate forever.

    Voldemort > Cedric Diggory
    Cedric Diggory = Edward Cullen
    Harry Potter > Voldemort
    Therefore, Harry Potter > Edward Cullen.

    You cant argue with math!

    Scott: (I guess he does read our posts, Amy-la) I check up on your twitter feed every once in a while, its just so much effort to type the address into the address bar. Oh well, it works though cause I need to keep track of thelindsayellis and zacharyquinto as well! (of course). Dang Comicon being the day before my lacrosse camp.
    Wow, I sound like a total nerd now. Maybe I secretly am. 😉
