Fan Art Friday

I have had interesting news about my work in progress this week, but it’s all super secret. It’s pretty cool, though, and you will all hear it about one day.

One day soon? MAYBE. Maybe one day somewhat less soon. But one day. I PROMISE.

Let me just say that things they are a-brewin’.

In the meantime, it’s time for FAF! Let’s do this.

We begin with some cool 3-D projects. First is a Clanker lamp from Kirsten. Here it is, both in its raw form and with the shade on:

Like I’ve often said, one of my favorite things to come out of Keith’s illustrations is the sense they give of Clanker and Darwinist physical culture. Not just machines and beasties, but simple things like desks and lamps. So thanks to Kirsten for following that vision.

And here’s Haley’s cool Leviathan-wing ring:

The wing wasn’t entirely Keith’s creation. It was something that the designer of the hardback cover of Levaithan, Sammy Yuen, put together from pieces of Keith’s art.

Speaking of wings, here’s Kaitlyn’s cool shot of Deryn using her body-kite outfit:

Nice. Love the color scheme, and the fact that it makes Deryn look a bit like the shot of Lilit from Behemoth.

  3. Me and my friends have a ton of inside jokes, but I never knew they WERE inside jokes. And the Bovril-Khaki thing was an inside joke between my sister and I. You did see that comment, did you?

  14. @710- Yeah, it sucks. Especially when no one cleans their water glasses and plates. Lazy bums!

  17. @714-At my camp the helpers have to do dishes but the kids barely eat anything so it’s not too hard.

    Floorsweeper
    Mudroom organizer
    Desk washer (my job this week 🙁 )

  31. @727- Yeah it is! See… easy is composter. All you have to do is bring the compost to the end of the field once a week but no one actually does. We just dump the compost of the side of the deck. My teacher hasn’t noticed… yet.

  35. @732-Poor you. I, in fact, got hugged and kissed by two little girls at my camp who absoulutly adore me. They actually fought over who got to sit on my lap at lunch and who got to hold my hand!!! IN YOUR FACE!
    JK sorry. 😀 they really like me though! They’re soooo cute!!!

  37. Yesterday at camp this boy was kinda like hanging over a swing, like lying on his stomach, (try to visualize that position), and a girl pulled on his legs to pull him off, but all she succeeded in doing was pulling his pants down. XD it was HILARIOUS!!!!!!!! 😀

  42. @740-GUESS WHAT I was one of the FIRST PEOPLE IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD to see that cover!!!! Cause’ I went to the Fox Theater to see Rick HIMSELF and the crowd there was the FIRST CROWD he ever showed the cover too!!!! HAHA IN UR FACE sorry I know that was mean but yeah it felt goooood 😀 😀 and also the way you make sunglasses is 8+) see?: 8)

  44. I’m not gonna be here next week. I’m gonna be having fun at camp! A DIFFERENT camp though, not farm camp. It’s gonna be sleep away. And it’s in the mountains. I wonder if I can get wi-fi SOMEHOW…

  47. @735- Oh, sometimes little kids like me. The reason I got slapped was I was really happy, for reasons I’m not going to explain, and appearently I was acting like I was high. Actually, some of my friends had a fight over whether I was high or drunk.
