I was reminded of Leviathan again today when Kate Beaton made a comic about Alek's other famous great uncle. XD

"You're from Austria! AUSTRIA!"

"Lincoln is my bro! Get your own bro!"  That was hilarious.

I just finished reading The Girl in the Steel Corset by Kady Cross (good read btw) and everytime someone said "wee beastie" my first thought was "Deryn?"

"I had fun once and it was awful!" LOL!

So, no chance Alek has a little Latin in him?  ;)

You've got to wonder: would the Titanic incident have been carried out the same in the Leviathan world, or would it have been different. Could the Titanic have been some sort of fabricated beastie or other?? Hmmmmm...  8)

I've never thought of that before. The Titanic could have been a fabricated beastie, but it still could have made history. Imagine the headlines. The Titanic: Beastie Sunk on Maiden Voyage!. Then an article after that describing how the ship's crew lost control of the fabricated beast/ship while on it's first voyage across the Atlantic and it crashed into a huge iceberg, despite all of the new advances in genetic beastship enhancement that were developed as safety features for the largest luxury beastie ever created.

Actually, I was talking about Titanic the movie.
There are all the right conditons: One's an orphan, the other's supposed to be disgustingly wealthy and high class but isn't really, one of them is an artist, one of them has red hair and green eyes (i know Alek's hair is reddish brown), one has blonde hair and light green eyes (i know Deryn's eyes are blue, close enough), one of them has come close to dying and been saved by the other, they're completly forbidden to fall in love, and the guy gets arrested twice.
Oh yeah, and their personalities remind me of Alek and Deryn.
Jack's personality is like a more street-smart Alek, and Rose has Deryn's spunk and all that.
