  5. To start, Leviathan was an amazing book, I told all of my friends about it, and they all read it and loved it and are now begging me to let them borrow Behemoth.

    I just finished Behemoth, I genuinely cried when it ended because I wanted to read more.

    Truly a work of art, Scott, please do keep up the fantastic work. I can’t wait for Goliath. And I do hope this series lasts much longer than three or four books.

  6. i just finished laviathan! amazing! i im for the darwinists. (i like animals)want to read bohemeth, like right now. but my library doesn’t have it yet. 🙁 it would be a waste to buy cause i only read books once.

  7. I loved the development of the two main characters, especially “Dylan” Sharp. She is so resourceful and heroic–reminds me of Tally from the Uglies series. The loris was really intersting too. I do like the beasties much more than any of the clanker machines. This was such a fun read, and the love triangle was amusing. However, I hate it that these books do not really end and that I have to wait an entire year to read the rest when Goliath comes out.

  8. I just read Behemoth and if it is possible it is better than Leviathan. There is more action and even more secrets. I loved this book and await the next one.

    I really loved reading the Behemoth and how it sent me on a wild roller coaster over the events that happened. Although it didn’t seem to hold me as much as the Leviathan I still liked the Behemoth.
    I can’t wait to see what Scott Westerfeld will write in the next book (not to add any pressure since I’m ready for anything!)! I’m just dying to read it but I don’t think it will be out soon, since Mr.Westfeld wrote Behemoth in October… But anyways I’m really interested what will be in the next book!

  20. Really loved Leviathan and really liked Behemoth. I just wished that (WARNING SPOILERS) that Alek should have dealt with that nosy american reporter instead of letting the reporter INTERVIEW him and uncover almost all his secrets!!!!!

  22. The Uglies series was one of the two best series I had ever read, until Leviathan! It’s an amazing book, combining the past and future perfectly to create a different Great War. I can’t wait until I can read Behemoth!

  23. I never re-read books, but you leave me no choice because the 3rd book doesn’t come out until october of next year! By then i will have every word down to the last apostrophy and every picture engraved in my mind. but none the less, thank you Mr. Westerfield for sparking the re-reader in me! -and for being a beautiful writer-

  29. I just finished reading the book, and it was awesome! Once again, Deryn and Alek have saved the Leviathan along with their new friend, Bovril. I’m just a little frustrated that Alek is so blind and has yet to figure out that “Dylan” is a girl. I suppose that he will find out in Goliath. But I wonder if Alek’s document claiming he is the archduke is still valid after the Holy Father’s death…?

  32. I absolutely loved Leviathan and Behemoth and I can’t wait until Goliath comes out! But the thought of this trilogy ending makes me want to cry. Can you make Golitah super super super long or have a companion book (or two)? The world created in these books is absolutely awesome and you make it so believable, it’s amazing.

  34. My wife recently made a new kind of beef stew unlike any I had ever had. My mouth literally watered at each spoonful as if my appetite were growing in response to its deliciousness. The story in these books have been much the same for me, the compelling characters, the believable fantastical world awakening a voracious appetite for more. Thanks for the awakening.

  35. The merging of history and fantasy created an alternative history that blew me off my feet. The two characters rather complex relationship and situations provided an excellent cast that I immediately began cheering for. The exciting plot made me laugh, moan, groan and yell *spoiler ‘ALEK YOU SHOULD HAVE WACKED THE LOONEY REPORTER!’. After all of that, you, Mr. Westerfield, have moved up onto my list of favorite authors.

  36. i loved levithan im currtently reading Behemoth its a wonderful series of books when your done with the levithan series you should do one for world war 2 as well and cant wait for the third book. you have to be one of my favorite authors and the illurastions were wonderful

  54. i just finished Leviathan i have got to say that it is the best book that i have ever read and would love to see it turned into a movie but it would probably be ruined because thats the way with a lot of books turned to movies but i have to say you are an excellen writer and keith is an amazing artist and his art really helped convey the story i can’t wait for the other book to come out.

  61. I finished Behemoth and found it to be just as good as Leviathan. The only thing that disappoints me is that I have to wait so long for Goliath! These are books that you can read over and over again – I’m almost done reading Leviathan for the second time. 🙂
    Also, I would most likely be a Clanker.

  62. How do you pronounce Leviathan? I went to the bookstore and asked for the sequel to Levvy-uh-thon, and they told me it was le-vie-uh-thin. Someone else said Le-vee-uh-thin.

    Great book anyways, pumped for Behemoth, which is obviously Bee-hu-moth. Unless it’s Beh-hem-muth. Uh-oh.

    If the Leviathan is mostly whale, does that mean it can swim? Seems more whale-ish than flying.
    You could just be flying over the ocean, then dive underwater!

  69. Leviathan is the BEST book in the world! I couldn’t put it down for a second. I’m getting Behemoth tommorow. I’m pacing around. I can’t wait to read it! The third book is coming out close to my birthday and it’s all I want! YOU’RE MY FAVORITE AUTHOR EVER! Also the illustrations were awsome.

  72. Are they going to make these into movies? They should. These stories have everything: action, adventure, a little romance, humor, cool machines and unusual creatures, everything you want in a movie. All the books they’re making into movies now have annoying, predictable story-lines (I can name three off the top of my head) dumb love triangles where one girl is trying to decide between two guys, who should I choose? So annoying! Deryn and Alek and unique and funny. Very simply… they are awesome books that would make awesome movies, and it would be so cool to be able to see all of the machines and animals in action.

  74. I absolutely LOVED Leviathan. I recently read it after a recommendation given by a friend, and I do not regret a single thing. I’m still waiting until I can get Behemoth from the library, though. Can’t wait ’till Goliath comes out.

  75. Leviathan and Behemoth are possibly two of the best books I have ever read, and September 20th cannot come soon enough! With every page the adventure just became more complex, I was on the edge of my seat in suspense, because you never really know what’s coming. Even my dad loves the series!
    All in all, you better give Alek and Deryn a happy ending (preferably together), and if you drag out Alek finding out Deryn’s true gender any longer I’m afraid I’ll have to go down there and make you write it myself!

  77. ok the suspense is killing me i have read both books FIVE times i stayed up all night reading leviathan and finished the next morning. I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!!! i would proudly test the book first just to make sure it doesnt kill anyone. I NEED IT! the books are great and should continue past goliath when i bought leviathan and showed next book behemoth and i got behemoth that year for christmas and didnt say next book goliath i was sad because I THOUGHT IT WAS ENDING! 🙁 but ny friend told me about the third and boom my hopes shot up. im italian though they might have been darwinists in the book i’m with the clankers!

  79. Aye! finished reading the first book, I love it! Im on darwinists side though coz I love Huxley (kinda reminds me of Zergs in Starcraft or warcraft?) and I love the way Deryn swears “Barking Spiders!!” I wonder what’s inside the egg? Hmm! Cant wait to read the next book 🙂
