  3. I have finished Peeps and Last Days, they rocked, they were awesome i loved how they turned out and ended really good!

    My review is:
    From the Bran-la Household- This book was totally Fawesome!!

  4. It was a great book! I’m so happy that I found it! (but it took a lot of explaining to people that this book was NOT about easter candy or humans…..well sort of) (I had seen The Last Days like 10 million times but I could NOT find Peeps but I finally did find it (and ended up buying two b/c I lost mine in the middle of the book and by the time I found it again I had already finished the sequal, so I gave it to my friend)) and it was really interesting. The story was fawesome and so were the parasite factoids (I am a boatload of useless information that I will never ever need unless I go on some bizzare game show). But I have to admit I didn’t like the Last Days as much…..there weren’t any factoids 🙁 But the Night Mayor’s info was good but I liked the parasite stuff better (the Night Mayor’s stuff kinda freaked me out…..no offence). But overally it’s a good book and I would recomend it…. Oh and by the way, Scott I can’t remember but is there any genetic parts in Peeps, we’re learning about it in science and my teacher is looking for books to have us read…..well bye!

  16. OKAY!!! FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT ARE TALKING ABOUT HOW BAD TWILIGHT IS, YOU BETTER SHUT UP!!! NO ONE CARES TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR OPINION. I love both books, from scott westerfeld and from stephenie meyer. Scott Westerfeld makes awesome books, and so does stephenie. They’re both insanely awesome. Do not talk about any book that you probably don’t even know about. I hate when people talk bad about a book in public. Have you even read the books from stephenie meyer anyway? If you haven’t just shut up and don’t talk about twilight. talk about how much you like scott westerfelds book. (sorry if i was a bit mean, i just hate these kinds of people, also, i don’t feel comfortable calling the author his first name only so that’s why i put the whole name, hehe!)   17. i TOTALLY agree with mangaworm on this one! both books are good. stephenie meyer is an amazing author, and you definetely shouldn’t bash her books until you’ve read them. i guarantee you that if you actually read her books, you would fall in love with them and write a retraction to what you’ve said about them. please, READ BEFORE YOU SPEAK!!!!!!!!!!

  18. My reply is to uglies. I used to be in a situation where I could never find a book that I could read from start to finish. But when i took uglies off the shelf and started to read it I could actually take myself into the book and imagine what the characters looked like and what their voices sounded like just by how it was written on the page. Uglies was recommended to me by a lady I met that was a teacher. She said It was a sweet book and I would probably enjoy it…and I did!

    anyways thank you Scott Westerfeld, your book changed my life (in a good way *wink*)

Because suddenly there’s been a rat population boost where I live when there hasn’t been rats around for decades, a number of people have suddenly gone missing, and some kids at my school have been talking about sudden enhanced night vision, and most of them have cats…scaaaaaaary…

They. Just. Keep. Having. KITTENS!) and I will not subscribe to his theory that they’re “part albino”.

    it was fawesome! i absolutely LOVE parasites!!!!! i mean. not in like, the way that i want to collect them…on me. or in me i guess. but i love them!!!!! i love little facts about random things that nobody cares about! and PEEPS is FILLED with them!!!!!

    I liked Peeps and the Last Days. They gave me some fawesome words, and I swear I was the first fan to start using them. 😉 Okay, maybe not. But I use them in everyday life, not just on forums. So am I fool or what? Haha!

  35. AH! i absolutely LOVED peeps! it’s so amazing! i’m pretty sure i’m madly in love with Cal :), but then again, who isn’t? he’s AWESOME! *sigh* cute texans…
    i loved the glassphalt part, now everytime i walk down the street and see it sparkle a little, i think of peeps :D.
    the last days was good, i loved how you used many different points of view. i think that’s a very good writing technique.

    Also – Uglies was awesome (are they really making it into a movie – it said so on wikipedia)? I hope so. That would be cool.

  57. i just have to say that i was doing a project for school and we had to do a book report and then research and write about the auther and then write the genre of the book and i had my poster completely finished and i went to school and looked at the outline and i did the poster wrong so i had to redo it but i started reading peeps and really liked it so i changed my book and had written the book report and is currently writtin about Scott and i just had to say that i love this book vampires real or fake are the bomb and you enlighten my with another thing to laugh at bahalama-dingdong i can weeks laughing about them thank you and i plan on reading more books and i have specials at home and then uglies and pretties on hold at the library

  62. I lurrved peeps! It is one of my favorite books! The Last Days just didn’t have as good of characters. They weren’t as well devolped as Cal and Lace (sorry) I did like that one too though.

  69. Okay, I just decided to go poking through here since I just finished peeps, and first off, I liked it. One thing that really annoyed me though was that there really wasn’t enough development, especially with Cal and Lace. I mean, I liked the book and all, don’t get me wrong, but it’s like, girl meets guy, girl likes guy, girl gets pissed at guy, girl finds out truth and likes guy, then all is well, in like 2 days(3?). But I have to say, it was an addicting read nonetheless, I finished in 1 day.

    Now, second thing, what’s this whole issue about twilight vs. peeps? I’m confused. From these 68 comments, I’m guessing it started w/ Zane, and now I’m not here to start an argument, I am curious as to why you didn’t like twilight, or rather, why whoever looks at this blog disliked twilight. I loved the books myself, read the three that are out in 1 week, and can’t wait for the 4th, and most of the people I’ve talked to have loved them, so what’s up?

  77. well, the beginin wasn’t as good cause it left us hanging with Cal and Lace, but then they came in towards the endish/middlish part of the book. I still thought it was good, especially cause there was no gross parasite biology in it!!!! LOL!!!! It was fool cause Min and Mozzy were in it and the book was really… interesting. But, I have to admit, Peeps was a little better than the Last Days (which is a fawesome band name). I loved the part when Cal was in Lace’s apartment for the first time and she showed him the “thing” on the walls that (obviously) a peep wrote. That gave me the chills! I couldn’t imagine having to live there when I knew there was that scary “thing” on my walls!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Anyway, got to go! BYEES!

  78. Am I the only one that loved the parasitology in Peeps? I thought it was really cool. Also, if you’re not a fan of music in-depth/bands, then yeah, the last days isn’t that great, but right when I heard them mention a 75 strat, I was like sweet.

    yesterday, i saw peeps on the shelf in the school library, and i couldnt help but pick it up. i then decided to rent it out, and read it again. and now 2/3s the way through it, i cant believe that i forgot half of the character names and plot. its just a great book, written by a fawesome (meant in a good way, promise) author.

I have just recently finished the book and I love how its keeping me on the edge of my… seat xD there is always something happening that keeps me reading more and more into the book. i liked the little romance in it to hehe. love it! good job scott westefeld. cant wait to see whats coming hehe.

  122. ‘Peeps’ and the ‘Last Days’ were absolutely wonderful! It’s definitely not like any other book I’ve read and I love the characters! They just really make the story (like all of scott’s other characters do)
    Oh Rihanna’s Disturbia does fit!! 😀
    I’d love a movie based on one of Scott’s books too! But I still feel it might take away from the story

  132. Exactly! I’ve noticed that, since the Twilight series gained so much popularity, all the books on display at EVERY BOOK STORE are vampire ones! Don’t get me wrong–vampire books are good (which is ironic, because before reading Peeps, I hate them. I actually probably WOULDN’T have read it if it weren’t Scott-la, and a random person saw me pick it up and told me it was great. THANK YOU, RANDOM PERSON!). In my opinion, almost ALL fantasy books are good. But COME ON! My sixth grade teacher actually read a bit of Dracula aloud to us…never did get to finish it. Scott-la’s is SO completley original! I love his books, but it’s almost depressing, because I think I’d like to be an author, and then I read/re-read one of his books and am like “I can’t think of something that original!” I actually do like Twilight, I think Stephenie Meyer’s a good author, but I still like Scott-la way better.     Wow, that’s just sad. And yes, she is saying that. Quite clearly actually. Now, I respect people’s opinions if they say they like the Twilight books, but it’s people like you who really make me loose that respect.

    It kills me to hear all these girls saying, “Oh, I wish I was Bella,” or, “Oh, I wish Edward was my boyfriend!” On the first one. I always think, really? You really want to be a shallow, vain girl who can’t stick up for herself? My example of that is in New Moon. I mean, GET OVER IT. You lived without him before, you can do it again. And the second point- Why in the world do you want a boyfriend that, for one, watches you SLEEP. Can anyone say stalker? Really.

    And fyi, I’ve read all 4 books, as much as it pained me to do so. (I was hoping they might get better-I was wrong.) Now, I understood that the books were SUPPOSED to be about love, but in that category, Meyer failed COMPLETELY. The plot it predictable, (Ex: Eclipse, where Bella’s the one to figure out it’s Victoria trying to kill her. I mean, really. How easy was that to understand.) boring, and quite a few other things I probably shouldn’t say. Not to mention that it was poorly written. She uses many of the same words over, and over, and OVER again.

    I personally can’t understand why this book is liked by so many girls, and it kills me. (I mean, it’s a FICTIONAL character. HE DOESN’T EXIST.) It’s also people like you, tally-wa (tabea-la), that give other, LITERATE fangirls bad names. I know quite a few people in real life who love the book to death, but they at least know how to write. As in, use proper grammar.

    Anyway, my rant is over. And I really don’t care if anyone disagrees with me. That’s your own opinion.

    Oh, and one last thing. I’ve never seen an anti tell someone, “How dare you love Twilight!”, and yet, all the time I see people like you saying, “OMG, HOW DARE YOU HATE/INSULT/WHATEVER Twilight!” Honestly. It’s everyone’s own, PERSONAL opinion. If I want to hate Twilight, then who’s to say I can’t?     I read them for this exsact reason actually. I didn’t want to hate them without reading them, so I read them, and hated everything about them.

    The only part i almost enjoyed was jakob just because he had some character unlike the other flat boring characters that you tend to want to be killed.
    Yes I guess you could say they are about love, but it sure isn’t the kind of love I want to read about. It happend so fast it’s very unbelievable.
    Please tell me though that you are one of the sane fans that knows it isn’t the best book ever(definatly not even close to Harry Potter or any of Scott’s books) or one that knows the movie was complete crap(but better than the book, because they missed out all the parts that make Bella look like an idiot) When I saw it i could have fallen asleep.(the only good part was RPatz aka Cedric.     In the end, my friend gave me her copy and I finished it in a day. It now dominates the top of my favourite novels list. :3 I’d love to see them both as a movie, my friends and I have even done a “The Last Days” photoshoot, done with an amazing 35 mm camera and CG worms moving below our stage. 😀

  225. Ok I love Twilight don’t get me wrong but I honestly think that the Cullens wouldn’t stand a chance against Cal and Lace. Peeps (and The Last Day) are amazing. But Stephanie Meyer is also a great author. The whole time I was reading the Twilight books I was waiting for Cal to jump in and start slaying some huge worm that was following the Volturi or Jame’s coven…Is that weird??

Another one you should try is Killing Brittany by Sean Olen or at least I think that’s his name…hmm my friend read Blue Bloods and she says it’s good and she is currently reading the Summoning. Venomous is another one she has. There’s another series that another friend read and the names of them are Crank, Burn, Glass and I want to think one is Ice.

  267. Oh how i love school team trips when i forget books at home. I was gone on a school trip when i came across ‘Peeps’,it was late the bookstore was about to close in 5 minutes and i wanted something to read. It was the closest thing to me so i grabbed it and ran. After about 3 hours of reading that night I found it to be an amazing book. As we went to the same chapters the next day to look around a bit more I came across ‘The Last Days’. Even though i had not finished ‘Peeps’ I bought it right away. That was two days ago and im already half way through ‘The Last Days.’ I love this books they are amazing and probally the best Vampire Series I have even read. (I have read the twilight series, vampire academy series, blue bloods series, vlademir tood series,and the first house of night book) 😀

    But yeah to repeat myself again the books Peeps and The Last Days are amazing books that i love with all my book loving heart.

    I was in the car for 3 hours yesterday and I finished 2 200 page books. One was House of Night and the other was about a girl who goes to spy school.

    I have also read the famous Twilight series and I must say that although they were funny and fun to read I’m not sure they’re on my favorites list.

    Even though I don’t like Stephenie Meyer much anymore, I definitely reccomend The Host. That book is extremely entertaining and honestly I love it! I’m re-reading it for like the millionth time.

    If anyone has read The Host and has some suggestions on books that I could read that are like that book, that would be awesome. I’ve currently been into the whole scientific/futuristic/romance themed novels. =D

  316. Both Peeps and the Last Days were fawesome! I love how I can finally say fawesome and fexellent and fool without people thinking there might be something wrong with me.
    Scott Westerfield’s books are all really fool, thogh I haven’t read the midnighters…

    The Uglies series was really good, I got all my friends to read them and they think so too. It brought up some problems, though. Like, my friend was sort of on the David team and I was really rooting for Zane. We actually shouted at one other. Then Specials came out and Zane died (why?!?!). My friend laughed (*sniffs*)… so cruel.

    Since a lot of people talked about Twilight I feel entitled to do so too. So… I really like Twilight, I was a really big fan. And I mean BIG.
    And then I read the ending. My god it sucked. People: Don’t read Breaking Dawn. Please. Someone warned me and I didn’t listen. So believe me when I say the ending sucked.
    The ending for the Uglies series was okay, for me. it wasn’t sad, but it wasn’t TOO happy (unlike another book I read and mentioned).
    sorry, but i have to say this: “WHY ZANE!?!? WHYYY!?!?”
    The guy I go for never gets chosen, now tell me how that’s fair.

    Anyway, I went a little off subject.
    So… yes, Peeps was fawesome. The Last Days too, but I liked Peeps, better.
    They were a new way of looking at vampires, one that my aunt might actully not hate (my aunt hates ALL vampires. Whether they’re romantic or scary or just plain random, she hates them all. So saying this really means something).
    The ending for the Last Days, though, was really summarized.

Even all you people who hate Twilight (I don’t hate it, it’s just that it really gets on my nerves (f*ing ending!)) that if we were in Tally’s and Aya’s world (more like Aya’s) you’re just as well giving Stephnie Meyer the number one place.
