Fan Art Friday (Loris/Moggle Edition)

Hello, and welcome to FAF, or perhaps I should say FAFF, as in Fan Art Friday Fortnightly. Indeed, I haven’t been posting much of anything lately, but that’s only because I’ve been working on a New S3krit Project! It’s a new novel with all new characters and stuff, and I’ve finally found my stride. IT IS GETTING WRITTEN.

“When will this novel be out?” you may ask.

Indeed, you may. But I don’t know yet. Maybe autumn of 2013, maybe a year after that. I know, that’s a long time. But novels are long things, and publishing timelines are even longer things, and I can tell you that this novel is probably going to be FAT. (Like, longer than any of my other books.)

As for all the other possible questions you might have, they must wait for another day. This particular s3krit project is still too fragile to be interrogated and explicated.

Also, it’s time for FAF! Since mentioning the unnamed-loris-with-mustache thread last time, I’ve gotten a lot of loris/Bovril/Moggle art. So really this is all about the sidekicks.

The first one is from Adam, and it’s a shot of the kraken scene in Leviathan.

It’s great to see that encounter from a distance.

I’ve also been getting some Shay’s Story fan art trickling in, which is totally cool. Keep it coming. Here’s a notebook doodle of Shay from Daliz:

I like that the Uglies character have manga versions now, whether with pigtails up or down.

The rest of today’s FAF is all lorises and Moggle in many different media! Thanks to everyone for sticking with a theme.

If you’re going to wear a mustache, you should probably get a top hat. It’s funny because it’s true.

He totally gets Keith’s composition right. It’s cool how Bovril in that scene isn’t cute yet, more kind of new-born and weird. But then gets cuter and cuter as the series progresses.

Okay, that’s it. I’ll be back in two weeks with more FAF. And probably before then I’ll post something interesting, though I don’t know what.

  32. Adventureland is awesome! Went there for a band/orchestra thing and on the way back just going through a turn made me want to barf! They have the ONLY double loop roller coaster(which is awesome) and the only wooden roller coaster( which feels like it may fall apart any moment) in all of IOWA! (Ithink, not FOR SURE…)

  37. I am so happy right now! My favorite author checked out my favorite artist! Yay!
    And I’m in a band now with eleven of my friends (theoretically we wouldn’t all preform at once). And when asked in ten years (when we’re all famous) we would say it came about in someone’s basement at a party, when a couple people were fooling around on guitars, and someone said something to someone else, and another person said that sounded like a song title, and we all looked at each for a moment, then started figuring out chords and lyrics, cover art and band names.
    …Wow. Sorry this comment kind of got away from me. I’m just so happy!

    The next chapter is still a WIP, but I’m working on it. It’s especially evil, so all details have to be just right. I’m hoping by Monday. Maybe.

  113. @111 Well he is awesome too but I meant the band. The band members are much less stach-tastic though (unfortunately). When you Google images of Franz Ferdinand you only come up with one of the actual archduke, the rest are of the band! Franz Ferdinand (the band) is Scottish!!!

  115. @112- Well, Gale is all tough and manly and stuff, but as Katniss said (minus the manly part) so is she. She needs someone kind, loving and just nice like Peeta. Peeta is so much better than Gale. I think that they (Katniss and Gale) had more of a BBF (Bro/best friend) thing going on anyway. I never sensed any real heat between them.

  118. @115 I get the BBF thing and I’m not saying that Gale was great for Katniss or anything, I am saying that I personally prefer Gale. And I don’t like nice, understanding, caring type people. They bore me. That is why my best friend is my best friend. We hate caring people. SOOO anyway, at least Gale can kill his own food. I doubt Peeta could kill a mosquito.

  287. haha, so in MY orchestra today, we were rehearsing “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” and we all knew we would have the electric guitar part for the concert, but we assumed it would be some student. Then my orchestra teacher pulls out her electric guitar, and we all discover she played when she was younger. She is now the most amazing orchestra teacher ever!…Part time fire-fighter, black belt in karate, and she plays electric guitar!

I just felt this sudden rush of overwhelming love for these characters and just like that–I was crying. Because Deryn pulled a watch out of her pocket. I must be mad. But I don’t care.

  379. Here’s a piece I wrote about Bovrik trying pizza for the first time:
    When Bovril first set eyes on the pizza, he was in live. He really had no idea what it was, even being perspicacious, but it looked good enough to eat. Which he did. He devoured every last bit if that cheesy, gooey goodness. He even had room for dessert. 🙂

  380. I live in good old WA. Did you know that a explorer named the river that goes thru British Colombia and Washington Columbia because of a place in South America and WA was originally named “Columbia” but they thought that it might be confused with District of Columbia (D.C.) so they named it Washington after the founding father. Then D.C. goes and adds “Washington” to their name and adds to the prevalent confusion.

  392. I just saw that whopping cough is raging through Washington (I can testify, Yahoo is true on this one) and I think I might of gotten it. It wasn’t that bad (of course I have no idea whether or not I ACTUALLY got it, my mom believes in the “Mocter”. Note the word “Mock” in it.) I also got the swine flu. But I also have a really strong immune system. Like half of the vaccines on my papers are listed under “Personal Exemption”.

  628. Ok so today my friends and I climbed this mountain and on the way down we took the wrong trail. My friend decided that he would lead is off trail into the woods to try to find the right trail. We wandered about four miles into the woods without any adults and we eventually stumbled into the backyard of some mansion. We found a road and followed it for a few miles until we ended up finding the trailhead. My legs and arms are so beat up it looks like I had a run in with a tiger.
