Zombies vs. Unicorns!

In case you haven’t been following the zombie-versus-unicorn thread on the internets, it has come to a mighty climax with the announcement of:

The Zombie Versus Unicorn Anthology! A collection of zombie and unicorn short stories to settle the issue for good, co-edited by Justine Larbalestier (aka, my Justine) and the fabulous Holly Black.

Justine is, of course, the head of Team Zombie, and Holly is the head of Team Unicorn.

Here’s Justine’s announcement of it, and here’s Holly’s.

Stay tuned for an amusing video on this subject.

  1. Okay, Unicorns can’t do diddly-squat. You know why?

Because they don’t kill, they are a symbol for purity and innocence…they really can’t do anything but…be there…being good…and…sparkling….like GHEY MEYER-PIRES.

Zombies, however, cause apocalypses, and eat people, and people have an inherent fear of BEING EATEN ALIVE, and aren’t scared of unicorns…because unicorns can’t do anything to them, because of said reasons of being pure and innocent.

Now, tell me which ones are more interesting?

  2. TEAM UNICORN!!!!

Zombies can’t kill unicorns, but unicorns can kill zombies, since only a virgin descendent of Alexander the great can kill unicorns. I don’t think zombies fit that description…..

As for unicorns running away from zombies, please have any of you zombe fans seen a karkadann??

  3. i’m getting tired of hearing unicorn wins cause they have magic crap even an army could kill a unicorn in one second zombies can infect the world in weeks watch return of the living dead and you see why zombies are better

  4. Zombies.

Can unicorns inspire terror? I think not. Are they implacably irrational and savagely hungry for human life? You think so? Throw them the little girls!

If in any doubt refer to Poppy Z Brite’s Calcutta, Lord of Nerves short story, one of her best pieces of writing in truly chilling Poe tradition.

No, not about the unicorn loving girls – toss ’em!

  5. zombies will die they will get stabed like1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000.00000 times timessssssssz so i win

  6. Team Unicorn all the way! Zombies are much too…slow, dead, sad, miserable, pitiful…must I go on? Unicorns have kick-butt horn that can cure diseases you will most likely get from zombies. And they’re just magical, while zombies are just death.

  7. That’s crazy. But I’m up to it. Never have I heard if such a combination before. Now I need to look for the book. I hope our local bookshop has it already.

Oh yeah, TEAM ZOMBIE for the win!
