Zombies Versus Unicorns Trailer

September 2nd, 2010

Check it out:

In case you didn’t already know, Zombies Vs. Unicorns comes out September 21. It’s a collection of short stories—half zombie, half unicorn—by some YA authors you may have heard of, including me!

Team Zombie: Cassandra Clare, Libba Bray, Maureen Johnson, Alaya Dawn Johnson, Carrie Ryan, and me.

Team Unicorn: Meg Cabot, Garth Nix, Kathleen Duey, Diana Peterfreund, Naomi Novik, and Margo Lanagan.

There will also be a LIVE ZVU DEBATE here in NYC, at Symphony Space on September 23. Here are the details.

In Other News, Uglies fans might want to check out the free-this-week essay over at SmartPop. It’s called “Team Shay,” and is by Diana Peterfreund.

That’s it from me, except to say send in some fan art! Don’t let another Fan Art Friday go by in sadness!

I love Mind Rain ~ and the two about Shay were two of my favourites because I love the relationship between Tally and Shay.

&&I posted this on the last entry, but wasn’t sure if you saw it:

Scott-la… I’ve been reading mind rain {the last book left of uglies TT_TT

and I noticed you meantioned writing the trilogy from Shay’s point of view…

Did you ever seriously consider that? Are you still? Or is that not an idea at all?

I know you’re busy with the Leviathan tril right now, but I was curious…

i remember reading that Shay essay! You signed my copy of Mind Rain too…I love Shay- I’ve always considered her the main character (don’t get me wrong, I love Tally too, but where would she be w/out Shay to give her that push?)

and the trailer is HILARIOUS. I can’t wait. But I’m gonna have to say that unicorns are my favorite mythological beings of all time so I’m gonna have to say TEAM UNICORN :) .

You should find a way to do something with John Green. That would be awesome, my two favorite authors working together. =D

    (Btw, definately team zombies)

whoo! who doesn’t like unicorns? honestly… it’s impossible to not like them. they’re way better than zombies, at least.

    in my opinion, that is…

Errrr… wow, interesting video. Hm. I gotta say though, zombies make the world go round, and yet unicorns kick butt, so I don’t know what side I’m on. I would send fan-art but I suck at all forms of fan-art… really. I think. I guess I’m not sure.

Wow, that essay was powerful stuff. Reading that makes me wonder about Shay’s point-of-view. And the Zombies vs. Unicorns vid: hilarious.

Hm. Both zombies and unicorns are awesome in their own ways, but the Silly Band on my wrist is a unicorn (or a horse with a party hat/traffic cone on its head as I say). I think I’m going to have to go with unicorns because though they look kind and gentle, their horn can stab you. Hard. They can also kick and a bunch of other painful things horses can do.

And I would do fanart stuff- but all I can draw are cats, platypuses, stick horses, and stick unicorns.

As you can see, my website has had its first makeover in many years. This is to celebrate the fact that my first new series in years, Leviathan, comes out this autumn. (October 6, to be exact.)

Things may be wonky for a while as we play around under the hood. But I hope you enjoy the new look. Let me know what you think!
