Extras Done

The first draft of Extras, the fourth book in the Uglies series, is done.

It came in at 86,771 words. That’s almost exactly the same as Uglies.

Now Justine and I head to Texas for the TLA Conference, plus an appearance in Austin!

    mila-i went to amsterdam this summer(i really liked it)its cool u live in holland.

  7. if scott would write RUSTIES, what would it be about? I would want it to have at least some of the same characters and that wouldn’t happen if it was set in today’s world maybe tally or someone would time travel to try to stop the rusty world from collapsing or something…? never mind, unless you like it

    and i like aya-wa better!

  11. Jamie-la: sorry! I’ve been quite busy myself! lol! Omg! guys get this! I’m writing a book myself! it’s totally sweetness! And yeah, I’m from England myself! (cause I’m cool like dat) =] Lol, I’m so totally excited to read all the books on my book list this summer!

  12. Ps – Guys, this is totally funny. My friend Kristy she’s kinda a dumb blonde if you must say. and we were talking about different types of metals at the end of swimteam practice, and Haley goes “I think bronze is the hardest” and then some other person goes “No, i dont think so.” and someone else says “I think Urainium is.” and Kristy goes “Well it SHOULD be the heaviest its a PLANET!! DUH!” and we all started laughing so hard. and she’s like “what???” and someone finally told her and she goes “Oh, oops!” I had a moment like that once, it was so funny! Ok, so my mum and i were at a resturant and i was all “Oh shoot, i forgot to do my homework for Science!” and my mum goes “better call home and leave a message to remind yourself.” so she went off to the bathroom and i got her phone out and flipped thru her contacts and saw Shannon and so i called it, not realizing it was my cell number, and then my phone started ringing and i got my phone out and flipped it open and said “Hello? Hello??” and then i realized I had called my OWN cell, and everyone said i pulled a Kristy! it was hilarious

    and of course, i agree. aya-wa sounds much better. aya-la is too asian… and normalish.

    lol, and a side note, i totally choked when someone was like, “what’s Leviathan?” the SHOCK and HORROR!

  15. What sounds Asian now is pretty unapplicable considering that Extras takes place way in the future. I think Aya-wa just sounds better.

    Its with Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles (they’re sooooo hottt) If u dont I would recommend it. Its on thursdays@ 8:00pm Its soooooo good and its scary sometimes. If u watch it tell me if u like it. I kno this is way off topic but………….idk…

  42. Yay. I haven’t fully read Specials yet, but I’ll most likely be finished with it by the end of the day. Three days ago I ordered Pretties and Specials off Amazon.com. I also came across a listing for a book called Smokies written by Scott Westerfeld. At first, I thought that would be book four, but then noticed that the fourth book is called Extras. Did he write Smokies too? What is Smokies?

    I’m not sure if there’s going to be another book after Extra’s; that’s what I was wondering. But if there is, I’ll bet it’s called Smokies.

  45. Alright, so I went back reading through some past posts and all… and it gives me a question. Alright, so the main character person in Extras is named Aya… What happens to Tally? Is she completely forgotten? That would suck. I love her!

  46. I wonder if Tally becoomes the enemy in this book, because at the end she said how she would be there to stop the cities from growing too big and out of control.

    and omg, you’re right… Tally could be considered a bad guy… or maybe… since at the end of specials she and david say they’re going to lay low for a bit… maybe they just fade themselves into Extras if you get what i mean.
