Boxed Set + Dry Ice!

In my post-tour slumber, I forgot to mention that the boxed set of the Uglies trilogy came out yesterday! You can buy it for about $26, and a little over $17 at Amazon. In addition to the delicious slip cover, it includes one special feature: a glossary of ugly slang and bubble-speak written by me.

But check this out: Justine and I went up to the Bronx today and met some awesome kids from the Gear Up program. On our way back, we ran into a dry ice spill on St. Mark’s Street!

Some delivery truck had dropped a bunch of frozen carbon dioxide (aka dry ice) cubes into the gutter, setting the rain water bubbling and boiling.

People should do this sort of thing more often.

  32. Hey Scott! It’s Olivia from the Fairfield reading today. I’m the one who asked how you got your 1st book published. You know how you said I might be too young to be looking for a literary agent? Well, I’m actually trying to get my 1st novel published. I’m sending my novel to an interested agent tomorrow. I meant to say that when you signed my book, but I forgot. Anyway, it was great seeing you and you were really awesome in person.

    And might those youngsters have the chance to read a fifth Uglies caper?   42. i’d read that interview before. and i say jason-wa, because everyone seems to be using la. no one likes the wa.

    and i agree. like steph-la and people, i leave for two hours and there’s a million posts that are just like “gtg” and stuff. i don’t need to know that! it makes it all hard to scroll through and catch up! i know i sorta did that above, but it was different there. but taking a ten minute break doesn’t matter when i’m just reading through it later and there’s a million consecutive posts asking if anyone’s here. people would be posting if they were here! they don’t reply!
