Me in Houston w/Cassandra Clare

Next Tuesday, March 31, I’ll be appearing with the inestimable Cassandra Clare in Houston, TX. Cassie, of course, is the author of City of Bones, City of Ashes, and the just released finale of the series, City of Glass.

  1. first comment! : D

hope you have fun, those books sound interesting. but they probably aren’t as good as yours. 🙂

  2. That is so weird. I was just looking at City of Bone on B&N last night. I’m going to see if my library has it next time I go. o_O

And I really wish I were in Texas! Then I could have good barbeque and meet Scott. 🙂

    Click my name. 😀

  3. Scott…… isn’t City of Ashes the second, already-released book, and City of Glass the third? Not to be a know-it-all or anything, I was just wondering if I had been going about it all wrong.

To anyone who wants to read them, they’re incredible. Think Midnighters meets Twilight and Harry Potter, plus a bit of Star-Wars-y romance. There’re vampires, werewolves, warlocks, faeries, and just about every kind of really awesome mythical creature invented. Muchly cool.

  4. Yeah Casie’s right: City of Bones, City of Ashes, *then* City of Glass…

Who else is on the PulseIT board? I was so mad when I found out I got GoldenGirl not City of Bones because City of Bones = officially one of my favorite books. And they are huge, so paperbacks are expensive and I was hoping to get it free.

  5. Casie: Yeah, I was thinking the same thing when I read the post. I was like, “I could have sworn I saw City of Ashes at B&N once.” Oh well, we all make mistakes.

Hmm, Twilight-y? I’m not sure how I feel about that… Oh wait, yes I am. Blegh! 😛 I don’t want to read anything comparable to Twilight! But I do love Midnighters and Harry Potter, so I’ll probably still check it out if my library has it. 🙂

  6. Okay Casie- you totally made me want to read the series. My friend was talking about it today and said it was really good. Anyway, I’ll read anything with vampires in it.

    Top 20, yahoo!

    click on my name!
    =D

  7. That series looks really good, maybe ill just have to read those books now. Yay….ive been looking for some good books to read. =)

  8. Thankyouthankyou scott! Finally, you’re somewhere close to me! I’ll see if I can go… I think Huston’s 6 hours from SA, but I may be wrong… Hm… Corpus is 3 hours from here, but wait- isn’t Huston farther? Oh, never mind how many hours. The point is that I could actually go!!! Thankyouthankyou Scott! You’ll get 3 ThankYou’s when you come to SA! Lol, thanks. But really, why not stop by SA? It’s close to Houston!

  9. Scott-la, you responded to someone… haha.
always wonder when you will or won’t
mostly you don’t but it’s bubbly when you do.

so I am in my hs’ musical, Fiddler on the Roof… and the shows are coming up and now rehearsals until 9:45 pm… (so much of this musical is getting crumbly) so I’ve been rereading the Uglies tril… on Specials…. my fav! Notice new things even though this is the at least 6th time I am reading it… I believe more though….. &a million half and chapter reads. mhmm

I really wish they’d get on inventing hoverboards… &flash tattoos!

  10. I was just wondering if Justine was gonna make an appearence with you at this? I have How to Ditch Your Fairy and I wanted her to sign it. (Also I have one of your out of print books, that my wonderful boyfriend got me for christmas.) I meant to go to her Austin signing, but school got in the way.

  11. HHMMM… and i was also wondering about the order ’cause they are very good mind cheching books! all most as good as scott-la’s. Scott i was wondering since im doing a report on u out of all of your book’s what is your personal favorite?

  12. Oh wows, I just checked this and I just got home from Borders cuz I went to go get City of Glass! I’m on like chapter 3 now, and it’s amazing like the rest. Yays.

  13. OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!! Im going to texas!!! I WAS going to drive 16 hours to see CC in cali, but if YOU’RE going to be in texas WITH her, I HAVE TO COME!!!! I love love love LOVE the first. I havent gotten CoG yet cuz i dont have the money for it but i read thefirst two chapters cuz i couldnt help myself… Ugh!!! I need to go i need to go!!! I was in the middle of midnighters when i picked up her trilogy. I got it because of the cover lol. Same thing with the Uglies. Hopefully i’ll see you scott-la!!

  14. Houston? On a Tuesday?
How can I justify driving from Dallas to Houston on a weekday?
Or rather, how can I justify this to my grandmother, whose car I would need to borrow?

    This will take some bribery.

  15. Will you be coming to California anytime soon? Please? 😉
The other events sound fun too, just hope you come this way!

  16. That’s so cool! I think my aunt live near there…I heard those books are vastly AMAZING. Woot.

    Ange-la: I’m doing a project in multimedia on Ada Lovelace! That’s ironic… : D

    Have a fantastic day/evening!

  17. alas! so close , but yet so far 🙁 i wished i lived in texas !!!! i hate living in LA but i have read the books and i’m waiting for that one anyway

hey scott when douse your new book come out ?

  18. I was reading french Elle today at school (it was from last April) and there was a full page ad for Specials in it! In french! I was so excited!

  19. Ah, too bad I’m not closer to Texas.
Sunday was so much fun though! There were so many amazing people crammed into the bookstore.

  20. this is one of few sites that I go to daily that aren’t blocked on the school server… here @rehearsal again
    *sigh*

oh rehearsals until 9:45 pm all week
    haha

finishing up Specials…. every time I read it… well, I always get into books no matter how many times I reread the books… but it makes me cutter-brained, which is rather dangerous… but I almost don’t mind… it does fade until I reread it though… sorta

  21. Hahaha hey guys guess what? I looked it up on Google maps and it takes only 3 hrs and 19 min to get to that store Scott will be at from my house! And then I switched the mode to walking, and it would take me 2 days and 22 hours, that’s nearly 3 days, to walk there from my house! Hehe. See? I’ll just walk there if I have too. Lol. But seriously. Teusday? Cool, but I really am not sure if I can make it there on a weekday, man! It takes 3-5 hours, depending on traffic and stuff, to get there! Though… I’d have to leave by 3PM to make it… that means I’d miss the last part of 7th period and all of 8th period… which, hey! I could do that! But wait… When would I get back? Lets say I spend an hour in Houston. So we leave at 7:30-ish. Add 3 hours… I’d get back around 10-11. That’s actually not to late! If I sleep in the car, I could do that… Hey! I could actually make it there! I’m soo excited!!!

  22. Bran-la: Yep. I live in awsome San Antonio!
Reagan: Yeah, same here. We technically have 8 periods, but lunch isn’t really a period, is it? So we have 7 disgarding it.

See ya’ll! And see ya, Scott, hopefully in a few days!!!! Whopee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  23. Go north a little. Come to Colorado. Doesn’t matter anyway. I have a concert 🙁 Love Cassie’s books btw

  24. Alex-wa that sucks! I have six periods at school and I’m done at 2:15! I can’t imagine being in school that long!

  25. aat least hes working his way over ti the westcoast!

we used to have 8 periods and now we haVE 7
but we get out at like 2.11 or something
